Nothing phone (1) Main camera open error.

Software version: Nothing OS 2.0.5 Android 13

After dialing * # * # 0 # * # * (for the CIT Hardware test) , it shows “main camera open error” In camera test. Only the wide angle camera is functional.

In camera app:

Only wide angle view in 0.6x or 1x (both looking same - wide)
Night mode images are Turning glitchy
Even in video, only wide angle cam is functional. Cannot record in 4K ( or in 60fps in any resolution)

Tried these steps:

Cleared cache
Cleared data
Restarted several times
Booted in safe mode

Nothing happened.

Also, I’ve been using Nothing Phone (1) only from 3 months and wasn’t expecting to face such issues. I’ve never dropped my phone or mishandled it.

I have a similar problem, but only with the secondary camera:

Doesn’t switch to 0.6 mode
When selecting macro the app crashes

CIT test shows: “secondary camera open error”

saw the problem on Nothing OS 2.0.5 Android 13, I decided to install Android 14 2.5.1. beta2 - the problem hasn’t gone away 😥

what i’ve tried:

Reset camera settings to stock
Updated phone
stopped the camera application
Installed other applications (did not help)

I don’t want to reset my phone to factory settings because it’s already configured and restoring the settings will take a lot of time ☹
