As most of you probably already know, I’ve had an absolute blast creating Custom Glyphs with the help of a 3rd party tool on GitHub created by the talented Community/Discord member @SebiAi ! Right after SebiAi posted his community project, it immediately sparked my interest. It was a desire of many people after the Nothing Glyph Composer was launched to create more than just the already awesome soundpacks. I’ve been making videos of what I’ve created on X, and thought it’d be great to share my collection with you of all the stuff I’ve created!
It has no real purpose for me besides it’s nice to see them perfectly synced to a specific songs. It’s a creative process for me where audio and Glyphs come together and believe it or not, I enjoy the whole production process. Creating most of these Custom Glyphs takes multiple hours, so it definitely requires some dedication. I don’t use them as ringtones or anything, just a nice showcase when I want to show a cool trick what my Phone 2 can do, they’re a near-perfect execution of what the Music Visualization feature will hopefully become 😄.
The one that got it all started: Bou - Nokia Riddim (Glyph Files)
I wanted to try out how hard it was to use this tool and @Louis ☕️ gave me the perfect song to try it out. Not bad for a first try!
Swedish House Mafia - Heaven Takes You Home
To celebrate the collaboration giveaway between Nothing and SHM, I thought this was a perfect moment for a SHM Glyph. I later learned that longer Custom Glyphs doesn’t mean they’re better 😅 the build-up on this one was a bit too long…
Dr. Dre - Still D.R.E. (Glyph Files)
I remembered a tweet of Carl where he mentioned this genre was still his favorite, so I had to give it a try.
Martin Garrix - Animals (Glyph Files)
Such a famous song known all around the world. The melody if this one should be great together with Glyphs
DJ Snake, Lil Jon - Turn Down for What (Glyph Files)
Another banger after all these years. I was searching for a song which would go well with the individual zones of Glyph #4 (Better known as the Glyph Timer)
SAMPHA Soundpack - Glyph Composer (Download)
Another idea I was playing with: what creations would be possible if I could use a grid sequencer instead of my fingers? Used some other external tools to play with this and later added the Glyphs again. If you look closely, you can see that they differ from the official soundpack. I wasn’t able to match the ‘pulsing’ Glyphs which the Composer engine is capable of.
Why? Well… Nothing needs more Pokemon! Besides this song was in my Spotify wrapped of 2023, so that already proves I played it a lot!
Bobby Helms - Jingle Bell Rock
What better way to conclude 2023?! A Christmas spirited Glyph for the Holidays!
