Pedometer Widget Steps Miscalculation

Pedometer app misreading the steps, I woke up today and saw 26000+ steps…..I was shocked 🤯, is it really possible. Did my phone walk all alone in the night while I was sleeping

Dated - 30th Jan, 2024

Time- 13: 44 IST

In my point of view I think it reads the map data or what, my travel through car/ bike is counted as steps 😂😂

UmangKhaitan It counts the steps even in car sometimes really hope they change the mechanism that this pedometer works upon , google fit app has a better pedometer mechanism imo

I experienced an anomaly with my pedometer’s step count from last two days. It displayed 35,000 steps upon waking, which I believe is inaccurate. The count has reached 78,000 by EOD. Could you please investigate and rectify this discrepancy?

AnkitSingh_wDxLNGJxJ2 mine is working fine. Check for any updates for the widgets app from play store or try clearing the cache memory.

I think this is moreso to do with when it resets back to zero. I’ve had a couple of days where my watch displays +20k steps, but it’s counting 2 days in a row before resetting at some point during the day.

I’m too facing this issue…. Today when I left my phone to charge, it counted around 29K steps… Very unusual 😂

Its better nothing fixes this bug ASAP

For me it’s showing 162440 🙁

Attached screenshot for the same, what I observed is that when we use multiple users in phone 2 , pedometer is multiplying steps count hence leading to a wrong number. Team please fix this issue.

My pedometer is on Drugs 😂 anyway my watch reading and my phone reading were never the same but how can someone walk 85,501 steps in a day.

I too I’m facing the same issue.

It is happening everytime after charging the Phone.

It started after 2.5.2 update.

Same issue! I woke up with so many steps already done. Was I freaking sleep walking? Nope because google fit data showed almost 0 steps.

Another glitch - my phone’s wallpaper changed itself.

Do you guys think nothing phone has a lot of issues? Could it be hardware? Should I return it?

I also have this issue. Woke up this morning after a deep sleep and yet supposedly I had done 40k steps. I have a similar issue with the screen time widget, in that I will wake up at 7 and it will show that I have looked at my phone for 7 hours when it has just been sat on my bedside on charge that whole time.

The pedometer is a great widget.

But when the phone is charging the pedometer increases the step count without walking.

Is it just me or is it being faced by any other user using nothing phone 2?

Hi,

I have NP2, just encountered pedometer bug. I put my phone on charging for 30 min and steps went from 5600 to 141700.

Hopefully Nothing will fix this with the next update.
