AdityaSwaroop_0rSYjl0Rm4 PramothSelvaraj_LF0b8HpN86 have removed that as well, still that app is running in background.
AdityaSwaroop_0rSYjl0Rm4 Hey guys an update! I was able to solve this issue. So basically I enabled the developer mode, then went in the developer settings and then into cpu usage, there I was finally able to see that Search Engine Selector running in the background & I simply turned it off! Happy to report I am not seeing it again! After this you can disable the developer mode. Few people also reported here the same issues, you guys too can do this, it will solve the issue for sure.
Sivakiddy AdityaSwaroop_0rSYjl0Rm4 hi I having a search engine issue,I tryed your method but in development option there no cpu usage showing in my mobile please say any other solution for me
Boby Hello there, Any one else have this system app “search engine selector” forever slow up in active apps in ur notification drawer just beside settings icon at the bottom, it’s annoying and would like to know how to get rid of it, thank you
ItzMeKanna Just simply go to the Apps -> Show System Apps - > find Search Engine Selector - > clear cache & click Disabled option.
arpan2308 ItzMeKanna yes, correct approach Settings - Apps - See all apps - right top 3 dot - show system - Search - Search engine selector - Force stop / Disable
AloeLane Daniel Same issue here Edit: Thanks for the solution OP, took a while to find the “system apps” part though haha 😃 .
Boby arpan2308 won’t this bring the app back up again when we restart? also apparently it can’t be disabled.
arpan2308 Boby just try. Anyways this is a workaround till the time team is working on a solution. We have informed your concerns to them.
Rob ⚡️ Thanks all for sharing this, I raised it with our internal teams. Temporary solution: Settings, Apps, See all apps , Right top 3 dots, Show system - Search - Search engine selector - Force stop
VineetJain_wj5puwjJtu Rob ⚡️ I was facing same issue, searched for this community & the solution, and I’m sorted 🙂 Thanks a lot.
Ebineser Go to settings -> Apps -> All apps -> click Right side corner three dots -> show systems -> search for search engine selector -> disable
