OPPO charger is not compatible for fast charging with nothing phone! It’s using Vooc charging and Nothing is using the most common Power delivery standard.

johannes_m no my charger is 33w from my previous mobile, which generally charge mobile in 45 mins, then why this nothing takes too much time, I really want generic answer or solution, really feeling regret for this. My charger,cable, everything is ok still not charging. pls help me

Hi All,

Facing the same issue with regards to charging speeds. I’m using CMF 65W charger from day one along with the Type-c to Type-c nothing branded cable provided in the box. My observations:

When charging the phone in a room with normal temperature it’s taking very long to charge. Now it took me around 2 hours to go from 6% to 68%.
When charging in a room with Air conditioning. It charges quickly.

This is a big issue. Can have AC everywhere we go.

I’ve also used an application from Play Store called “Ampere” (Developer - Brain_trapp) to measure the amount of charging current.

When charging in a room without AC current current is around 1400 mA.
When charging in a room with AC, the measured current increases by atleast 3 fold.

NOTE: I’m not claiming these values are accurate. But can be used to observe a clear difference in charging speeds.

Requesting developers to kindly look into this issue.

Even I’m using the CMF 65W charger by nothing and it’s own cable to charge my Nothing phone 2A, still it’s charging very slowly, 50% in 1.5 hours.

Previously using OnePlus 8t, which even after 3 years of using it is still charging in 45 mins from 0 to 100%.

Considering the claims and reviews of Efficiency over Performance, I find Nothing Phone 2A is not working as per expectations.

Even the battery drainage is too quick. Have to recharge/boost once to last the day.

Please fix this urgently Nothing.

There is a bug with Charging speeds in Phone 2a i think.

Nothing team should release a software update to recognise charging speeds. Phone randomly chargers fast after removing and connecting several times.

arpan2308 yes bro I’m using the bottom type c post of Gan Changer with the nothing type c cable…I thought I’m alone having this issue but there are lot with me. This gives a sense of relief and nothing will help us out and then we will have nothing to say except everything is best in nothing (phones)

ramJagan Hello @ramJagan , I would recommend a charger from COSTAR from Amazon at 1,999. It charges my Nothing 2a from 2% - 100% within an hour.

It’s 65W GaN Fast Charging Adapter with a 20W USB Type-A and 65W USB Type-C charging ports with PD3.O and PPS protocol.

The adapter heats up slightly during the charging but the phone remains relatively cooler.

But i would recommend to use this method as less as possible and use possibly another low powered Charger, if available, and also in any method, charge the Phone uptill 80-85% always, to prolong the battery life. Keep the battery between 20-80% for best battery health.

And another request to the Nothing Team to add a feature for Smart charging to disable charging after about 80% charge has been established. To prolong Battery life.

No issue with different charger. If you want fast charge (when they fix the issue for 2a) you need a PD=Power delivery charger.

I am also facing the same issue with Phone 2a. I am using 65W CMF GaN charger along with Nothing supplied type c to c cable. It is charging very slowly like 30 % in 30 mins. Sometimes after disconnecting and reconnecting the charger, it starts charging fast like 60% in 30 mins. All calculations done with screen off and under similar conditions.

Please consider rolling a fix soon.

Yes. It’s working also for Phone 1 and 2 fine. I can not test it but seems to be a software issue with 2a. But for the guy above you fast charging is working.

On my phone 1 Quick Charge wit PD working fine with a 33W PD and also a 65W PD charger.
