Using CMF Gan charger (65W) with phone 2a (8+256Gb verient, updated to current software version)

It tooks more than 2 hours for a full charge (Max input of 15W)

I also tried this after turning on the hotspot (for using my secondary device) of the device, Then it tooks almost 3 hours for a full charge

Even though nothing pushed all these updates for charger optimization, it doesn’t work even a little.

I have a a mi 33w usb a to c charger, i want to know 2a support charging at 33w using that charger.
I ordered Nothing phone 2a today, So i am eager to know it

AyanSarkar_eJlKndHL0X prolly it will charge with 10W, since is using Xiaomi’s proprietary charging tech. So no, it won’t work. Just charge with 10W until you get a better charger… a cheap 25W samsung original charger will charge in less than 60 mins.

Deep i use an original Nothing 45W PD Charger (model C304) and my Nothing Phone 2a takes less than 50 minutes to charge from 20 to 100%. I get 8 to 10h SoT consistently. Get rid of poorly designed apps like Facebook and Instagram and your phones will thank you. If you want to use Facebook just open it in the browser.

I can only imagine you guys getting fake chargers to have so slow charging times.

mafcarvalho bro I have Instagram app only and what’s the use of phone if you can’t use app only to save the charging time. Ain’t this foolish to talk about. Also I have bought from Flipkart which is it’s official partner. So instead of assuming buying a fake product rather ask just because your unit is okay that doesn’t means all units are okay. Kindly go through the community feedback you will find so many battery charging related issues. Open your eyes.

Deep I said that Facebook and Instagram are poorly designed apps. They use lots of battery for just caching and other things that I can’t justify. You install and use what you want on your phone. I don’t care. But you can’t blame Nothing for slow charging if you are using the hotspot on your phone while charging. That’s irrational. Charging while using a highly battery dependant and heat generating service like the 5G hotspot will put extra strain on the battery and cause it to heat up too much. Heat kills batteries. That’s simple.

I replied to your post because I see too many people in India complaining about chargers and fast charging issues. Your hot weather is very hard on phones/chargers. If you don’t take some extra precautions, you’ll never achieve fast charging with no matter what charger used.

If you take a look at the community you will see that almost nobody in Europe has the same issues you describe.

AyanSarkar_eJlKndHL0X for example I use an original Samsung 45W charger, when I plug it, is stuck at 14W. I have to unplug/plug the charger to charge more than 14W, this is a nasty bug. Also, around 70% charge goes down to 17W-18W for a while, from 27W-28W. Higher I seen was 29W with this charger, is best charger I used so far, the rest were fluctuating too much (Anker 313, OnePlus Warp 65W/40W PD). Ppl say best charger to use is Samsung 25W 3A and is charging under 60 mins.

AyanSarkar_eJlKndHL0X no idea, just read the others’ posts if they use that charger how it is acting. Shouldn’t be a problem using it, since is made by them.

Really disappointed with purchasing nothing phone 2A. Wasted 2000 for a cmf charger that charges the phone slower than a 10000 rs phone’s charger.

MohanPrasath_bQVADZxOrU I tried the same thing with a 65w warp charger, and I came to understand that only with the right 45w charger you will get the status “Charging Rapidly” if you use any 65w or non 45w charger wither it will show charging slowly or simply charging! I did get a warning on my phone 2a when I used the 65w saying “charging is slower for better battery life and optimization.” so I guess, 65w charger is not a suitable companion.

zygerboy If samsung 25w adaptor can charge in 75min. Then why should we buy 45w or 65w adaptor?

MohanPrasath_bQVADZxOrU yeah you are right this happens with me I also do this like 1 or 2 times this I think is software issue because at first it works fine but after 4 update with my phone this problem occured

AyanSarkar_eJlKndHL0X Honestly, I have no idea about it. I too have Samsung 25w adaptor and tried it after reading your comment. I don’t see any difference. maybe your device has exclusive feature I think 😃
