Phone (2a) - Battery Life Discussion

Have anyone tried to reset phone to factory settings? I am thinking about it but its a tedious job..

Ezotericar I did this a week ago. As for results? Battery optimisation were taking 2-3 days but today I got more than 7,5h SOT - charged np2a on friday and I have now 26% left. I disabled many setting connected with location and with nothing weather app - I don’ use high accuracy location with almost any app ( only with google maps) and limit the location usage when the apps is in use - not in the background.

On a side note the camera after factory reset seem to be a bit better but the color accuracy is sometimes off especially with red colors.

i also getting 83% ussage of battery from WIFI how can we solve it ?? anyone iam new to Nothing and currently using Nothing Phone 2a

TNPL Tnx mate, this was helpful. Cant find energy to do it myself, the login, passwords and everything, also cant recall when is the last time I needed to do factory reset on some device… Anyway very helpful, tnx again!

VyomGor I am facing the same problem from last 2 updates!!!!

TNPL this suggestion really helped me. I use weather and Snapchat. Using precise location. I restricted my top used apps and removed precise location and I already can tell battery is lasting longer. From what I can tell it seems like the OS is not very good at showing true usage times and it’s hiding a lot of factors that we don’t know to check on.

TNPL Thank you for posting this, On average what is the % of improvement in SOT after this changes?

baymax - Hard to say…Previously I got more or less 7 h SOT and now maybe 10 h of SOT is within reach. I believe this phone with minimal usage would last about a week but mostly in stand by. Standby drain is reduced by half i think.

I charged my phone yesterday at 3 pm - after 2,5 SOT i have 73% left and the battery prediction is 2 days and 9 hours which is great!

Here are my screenshots. I think that high location accuracy drained my battery and the factory reset also helped. Hope You will get also improved results

another update… when i posted this 4 hours ago, i was on my way to work… i have battery saver set at 50 percent… i have 42% left…

Nothing tech support suggested me to visit nearest service centre,

But the battery draining issue is a common issue for everyone..

I would like to exchange my phone but there is no nothing phone 2a option to select..

It might be a placebo, but the other day I left my phone charging overnight and now I’m starting having this battery issue.

Since that day, the phone could easily do two days with one charge.

After 2.5.6 update I cleared cache of my frequently used apps. The SOT jumped to a crazy 9.5 hrs with enough juice left in the tank. WTH

ReddyAnna 9.5hrs and just one day?thats easy, but with 2 or 3 days you get maximum 4 to 6 hours
