Some people the in-ears do not fit in your ear as they should. With cord if ear 2 fall out of our ear, they will hang around our necks. We should have available a cord that does not affect the performance, the first approach is to hug the ear 2 at the top of the stick. The clamp should be transparent, I attach fast idea without transparent component (I am not a designer).
