VedantTiwari I’ve just got my Nothing Phone 2a, Installed snapchat and instantly noticed lag, turned on fps meter and got to know that its the only app on my phone running at 60hz instead of 120hz, I dont know whats the issue but experience of using snapchat on this device is very bad due to this very issue, anybody else facing the same issue? Is there any workaround?
VedantTiwari Im not saying that im watching high refresh rate content on snapchat, but it lags due to 60hz refresh rate, other apps are super smooth due to them using 120hz. Smoothness suffers due to 60hz thats all im saying
AlfejMansuri Nothing team please fix this problem 60hz refresh rate looks like lagging. I also enabled peak refresh rate from developer option but still not working at 120hz Anyone can help ?
HrishabhPayal I am using Dynamic refresh rate on my Phone 2a. Software version - 2.5.5.a Despite using dynamic refresh rate, Snapchat app runs on 60Hz. Even if I change the refresh rate to high it still runs on 60Hz. Tried reinstalling the app, issue persists.
Derren @HrishabhPayal Is this exclusive to Snapchat or have you tried other apps too? Just bear in mind that some apps are just locked to certain refresh rates. Is there any particular use case for having 90, or even 120hz + on Snapchat?
HrishabhPayal Derren Yes. It is exclusive to Snapchat only. On other devices it works on 90 or 120Hz. Actually it feels laggy on 60Hz while scrolling or performing any task. I don’t think Snapchat is restricted to 60Hz on other devices
Shiivampatel Facing this issue since very long but I don’t think this issue will be solved.. because it’s nothing to have with the software….. Snapchat is not that much optimize for mid range software…it’s only support 60Hz on all Android devices…even the wide angle lens is not supported in mid range phone’s…i don’t think the camera & video quality of Snapchat is good enough to capture…..
Abiram I am using Nothing 2a, The phone is so good but when I am using snapchat the framerate drop, the entire application sometimes crashed…! I think most of the should be notified that so please resolve that!
RogMick You’re complaining about Snapchat? I’m dealing with performance drops when I scroll down the notification tray, lol. It’s super laggy after those recent updates. The CMF phone feels way smoother than the 2a
