Unable to install some apps

Massive bug on Nothing Phone 2a: can’t install some apps or games from the PlayStore. Installing the same apps / games from other device (remote installation) is fine, it installs and runs without problems on the 2a. There are random apps / games that I could not install “normally”.

Hi, have you tried clearing storage data for the Google play store?

Stringfellow_hawke sure, tried a lot of things. Storage space is more than enough, and as I wrote, installing those apps from other devices works. Btw., never had such an issue on any of my phones (an I have a lot).

Just to name some of the non installing apps / games: “The Elder Scrolls Castles”, “Asphalt 8”, “Rush Rally 2,3”, “CODWM”, “SidAmp”, “LensLauncher”, “LightCut”, “Castro - system info”.

BenBradley Ah okay. Just tried installing Asphalt 8 on my 2a as a test, installed fine. Not sure what you already tried, if you have already, I apologise. But you could try deleting cache and data for Google play services as well. Or uninstalling updates for the Google play store itself, if that didn’t work.

Stringfellow_hawke no problem, thanks I am open for help 😉 So here we go: all done, even a total reset of the phone. Same problem. As far as I can remember, the issue came after the 2.5.4 update.

BenBradley Right, seems you indeed tried everything already, and I don’t have any more suggestions I can think of tbh… Maybe send a bug report about it? Considering this is a newly launched phone, I’d expect we’re bound to get another update very soon, you could also wait and see how it goes after that. Sorry that I couldn’t be more helpful.

Maybe you can try to find the apk online to install the game manually as a temporary solution.

As this call of specific not installable apps do not rise collectively and the phone has been reseted, it appears to be a problem with the Google account itself.

What does the PlayStore state about such an issue?

A potential idea in the meantime: Create a random new google account and try to download the apps in question with it (on the same 2a). This could isolate the problem away bit further.

[deleted] I don´t think it is a problem with the Google account as I can still install the named apps remotely from my other Android devices.

Hello, i have the same problem with a number of apps. Linkedin, Outlook, Reddit, Bank apps, phone company apps. There are a lot of applications which will not install despite having lots of free space, up to date time and location, updated apps. Just got the phone and it is already quite disappointing.
