Hello everyone! I’ve recently completed my concept for the community edition of the phone 2a. This has taken a bit longer because of the ideas that were flowing. Patterns, colors, and other elements went through several iterations but I’ve landed on something I feel is bold enough to represent us, the community!
Let’s break this down starting with color:

Color is a huge part of design and Nothing by extension, so this was a massive consideration in my design too. Nothing has long been focused on white and black/grey as it’s main 2 color variations which gives us some choice in our flavor of Nothing we prefer. My idea was to bring those together to show the unity of our community.
Blue:

Ok, I get that blue isn’t a color most think of when it comes to Nothing, but it’s been here since day one. From investors to buying your Nothing device(s), you have interacted with blue! This blue is on Investor badges and in the blue of the action buttons of the Nothing site, but where is the love?! It’s been hidden in plain sight with little to no attention, so it’s time for the community to take hold of it and use it to represent us, our actions.

Time for patterns

Nothing has set itself on making patterns as a strong part of its brand identity so for my design, our blue has its own pattern showing the software respect by having the signature NOS app grid.

Ok, so why.
Fair question even if you didn’t ask. This is due to the physical Nothing store, staff laptops, and the Nothing decals some community members receive! Showing respect back to the respect given to us.
