Some apps on my CMF Phone 1 were missing from Nothing’s icons or looked out of place. I wanted to tweak them individually, but switching to whole icon packs from the app store didn’t help.

I found a simple fix with Codex.

Enable Developer options, then USB debugging. Connect the phone and approve the computer.
Extract the original icon over USB, or provide a screenshot.
Redraw the symbol and adjust its shape and size.
Build and install a small entry app. Keep native Nothing themed icons selected.

Some apps don’t include Android’s optional single-colour icon layer, which gives the launcher a clean shape to recolour. Automatic conversion can leave messy details. Our entry apps supply a redrawn version, so Nothing handles light/dark changes while other icons keep their usual look.

Tap an entry and it asks Android to open the original app, then closes itself. It has no screen of its own, so on my phone there’s no extra page or flash in between. The original app’s own loading screen can still appear.

These are normal installed apps, so they don’t get the little shortcut-owner badge you may see with shortcut tools. You do get an extra app entry, without the original app’s notification dots or long-press shortcuts.

No root, extra permissions or background service. USB is only for setup; you can unplug and turn debugging off afterward.

I’ve shared the Skill, scripts and guide under MIT.

Works on my Nothing OS 4.1 / Launcher 4.0.20 setup; see the repo for test limits. Code, artwork and translation were AI-assisted.
