Nothing Products Timeline (2020–Nov 2025)

The Beginning

Nothing Technology Ltd. was founded in October 2020 by Carl Pei with the idea of building tech that feels clean, simple, and design-forward. Their first-ever product was earbuds — and everything since then has kept that transparent aesthetic vibe.

📱 Smartphones

Nothing Phone (1) — July 2022

Nothing’s first smartphone, instantly iconic thanks to the transparent back and “Glyph” LED system.

6.5″ 120Hz OLED
Snapdragon 778G+
4,500 mAh battery
Dual 50 MP rear cameras
Wireless + reverse wireless charging
Nothing OS 1.0 (Android 12)
It looked insane for the price and basically put Nothing on the map. Early bugs existed but the community loved it.

Nothing Phone (2) — July 2023

A massive glow-up over Phone (1).
Specs:

Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1
6.7″ 120Hz OLED
4,700 mAh battery + 45W wired / 15W wireless charging
50 MP main + 50 MP ultra-wide + 32 MP selfie

A budget-friendly beast with midrange power.
Specs:

MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Pro
6.7″ 120Hz OLED
5,000 mAh battery
50 MP main rear camera
Nothing OS 2.5

Community Feedback: Pros & Cons

Pros:

UI is more polished and visually consistent
Dark Mode is way better now
Glyph features feel more useful
New widget system (AI-made) is creative and fun
Lock-screen feels more refined

Cons:

Some feel the update isn’t massive — more evolutionary than revolutionary
Early bugs: animation hiccups, status icons not updating well
Rollout has been uneven — flagship users first, others waiting
Essential Search has occasional glitches
A few users feel lock-screen layout / widget sizes could be more customizable.

That’s the Nothing journey up till now , and I feel the community is one of the most significant parts of Nothing. I put in a lot of effort to make this.

Thank you Nothing for “making tech fun again”.
