Rob Im appreciate that there was thought, intention and inclusion of an iconic design, even on the breakdown down of the earbud stem. Shes that girl.
Nothing Ear Teardown
Rob the engineering around that cool circuit board is really amazing
Wow that is really cool to see!
I really appreciate the design theme of Ear.
My favourite part is seeing what the driver size is and the vents and didn’t know that earbuds needed vents.
It is also really cool to see the earbuds of Ear and see all the components of its existence.
Super cool thx Nothing
P.S I am looking out for the blue color of the Ear(a)
The way everything fits in the transparent stem and still looks good is amazing
Elements of the ear man. The pure milk white colour kills me.
Elements of the Ear Case
I am most impressed of how tiny the PCB is
It is hard to choose a “favorite” part. It is clear to see the precision and love that you guys at Nothing have put into developing this. That being said, I found way too amazing the fact that the stem itself has so many layers into it, because if we look at it in the outside, you could barely guess what’s inside. It was cool to see that even on the PCBAs, you still mantain a certail level of detail in the visual design, which in my opinion goes well with the vision of the brand. As an electronics nerd, the stem PCBA was certainly what made the whole proccess stand out to me. Thanks for making this and I really wish that Nothing mantains its vision towards clear design and QOL.
Let’s first talk about the design. The overall design of the ear buds case is smooth and compact and it easily fits anywhere. The magnets and the hinges are much better and the case looks and feels more sturdy. The thing which I personally liked the most was the earbuds. The new 11 mm dynamic drivers give you crystal clear sounds. The work done on the PCBA of the stem is so detailed and intricate, even the battery chip and mics look so small. Offcourse we cannot forget the squeeze controls on the earbuds themselves and the app is a cherry on top. The Equalizer gives you the perfect sound you need.I really appreciate the efforts done by the designers and engineers who helped design these earbuds.
The most intriguing fact that amazed me was that there is a battery along with driver in so tiny space. Also the fact that there is a wireless charging coil, perfectly crafted
Rob the transparent look and the immersive audio drivers.
Testing my luck here, cheers
Ceramic driver used when compared to phone 2 and still be able to achive better sound quality and ENC
I liked the drivers 11mm driver & Ceramic diaphragm ( sound would be amazing)
Also the transparent design is love…

Rob The earbud steam looks well made, I can see all the parts very well, including the PCBA, and a transparent look seems amazing under my standards. And for the case PCBA, I now know how exactly this whole thing functions. Considering the pairing button sends signals to the inductor, and the USB-C port (when charging) sends signals to the charge chip, I can see how my everyday devices charge now.
For the inside of the case, that battery may feel light, but it is t h i c c. Like, very t h i c c. And that part for some reason looks like a beetle with a long neck.
The wireless charge coil also looks like a very fun race track , but I digress.
For the inside of the ear, I didn’t noticed the FPC within it and assumed it was playing hide and seek with me. And the touch sensor may need some work done. Oh, and 46 mAh? That’s pretty short, I would like it if it was somewhere around 75-100, but you do you I guess.
I wanna give massive props to Nothing for showing how they achieved this transparent design under various circumstances, and how their sound quality is almost identical to the AirPods Pro.
What amuses me is the fact that there are more separate components inside the small earbud than the larger case. The word design now makes me think more than just the outer appearance, about how these components are engineered to come together while maintaining the appearance, to provide sound worth praising.
Rob For me it was the PCB, custom PCBs are hard to make and the cool thing is the PCB is the same shape as the nothing ear .
The engineering Marvel is not the single parts but how everything comes together in this functional , beautifully looking package.
