Hello Nothing Comunity,
Myself, along with other Nothing Phone users are intrigued about the SmartClean feature introduced for the Phone (2a).
All the information I could find on this feature is the mention in this video that SmartClean only runs “one to two times a week”, “at night”, “while your phone is charging”.
- From this statement, I infer that the process is automatically scheduled and triggers when the circumstances for it to run are met.
- Since Raymond stated some variance (“one to two times a week”) I also imagine that SmartClean running is based on the ammount of data written to your storage in the past week. Most likely there are multiple thresholds.
I looked through the Support Centre and could not find anything about it.
Having this SmartClean feature as a settings app, if not to allow the user to run it manually – at least to give some information on its scheduling and past runs gives us (the users) the transparency of the phone’s design on a software level that is very much the ethos of Nothing.
Cheers,
Slothrop
