Okay so I’ve been laying my eyes on the Nothing Ear (a), specifically the yellow one because they look beautiful. But then I’ve heard of the CMF Buds Pro for less than 50€. Spec wise they seem way similar so the price difference gets me a little confused. Does the Ear (a) offer anything that the CMF Buds don’t? I know about ChatGPT, but I’d never use it anyways. If anyone has used both and could tell me what they did notice, that would be awesome. Happy to hear from the community 🙂

Update:
I got the CMF Buds, am not regretting the purchase one bit! Listening to game soundtracks with that ultra bass is great !!!!!

Since Ear (a) is from the main Brand Nothing I would assume that It would have more features and get more updates and support

Both are solid products , all comes down to preference on sound. The nothing buds will give you best sound.

Depending on budget I’d go with nothing buds , but cmf are great too

    *I own both

    Comparing apples with pears?
Wouldn’t the Buds Pro have to be held against the ear?

Anyway, if I had to pick one of these, I’d pick the Ear (a) over the Buds Pro. Because the ear (a) are the (technically) fresher ones. In general I’d go with “the higher your demand is, the more expensive the earbuds might shall be”. Thus, Nothing earbuds over CMF earbuds, and Nothing Ear over Ear (a). If the price is the key figure, just straightforward: CMF Buds.

After using both recently here are a few things that absolutely annoyed me. I own the ear (a).

    EQ

You’d assume that for paying more you’d get more features and the earphone would be better. You’re wrong. Lol. Only the Basic Equalizer provided for the Ear (a) whereas the cmf buds come with a full range of better customisable sound and even AI (DIRAC) optimised sound for a better listening experience.

    Design:

Sorry but this seems to be the only plus with the ear (a). Cmf buds don’t come close.

    Eartips:

I personally don’t like that the ear (a) eartips feel more plasticy. The cmf buds have a really good rubber feel to the eartips, they sit better and grip on the ear much better.

    Price:

You basically pay two times the price just for the design. Which I am really considering right now.

    ANC:

This one really bummed me out like crazy. For 42 dB ANC, the cmf buds have like really good noise cancelling! For a 45 dB ANC, the ear (a) really does a shit job at what it does. The ANC works selectively which is very disappointing. Makes you feel like an idiot for thinking spending more would get you a better device with better features.
