Earphones and headphones are an intrinsic part of my everyday life. I don’t have special habits, but I do have a lot of rooted ones.
For the majority of my days, I listen to music on Spotify while I work, so the earbuds are always with me. Taking advantage of the Premium subscription, many times I get lost in the uninterrupted pleasure of discovering a sequence of new playlists created by algorithmic magic.
And when outside, I always take the earbuds with me. I go for walks daily, so I either continue with the Spotify session, I change to podcasts (I use an app called Pocket Casts), or I spend the walk on a video call.
To answer your second question, I do have two special places: first I want to enjoy them in a room that’s as quiet as it can be. I want to discover what they are capable of doing without any noise around them.
After that, I am going to take them for a walk. Not a specific route, but since I live in one of the biggest cities in the country, I really want to discover what the noise cancelling can do against cars, buses, people talking, etc.
Cities have a sort of “white noise” composed of a lot of sounds that you really don’t want around your music or the voice of the person with whom you are talking with. Microphones will also be tested to the maximum.
Between Spotify, Pocket Casts and video calls, I cannot wait to try the ear (1). I don’t want to expect a lot, since that’s a shortcut to be disappointed, but nonetheless, I am hopeful that they can have a positive impact in my everyday life.
