Hey Nothing nerds,

I’ve developed an app for the Nothing phone (1) and (2) that uses glyphs to indicate phone tilt. The app has 2 modes -

📸 Camera mode: Where glyphs left and rightward of the camera light up whenever the phone tilts left or right. Use case is for when you ask others to take a picture of you with a tower and you want to get it just right in terms of orientation. Also works in landscape mode. 🏔️
🎚️ Level mode: Where the phone can be placed on a bench and the G glyph lights up to indicate if the bench is level. If it isn’t, then the G glyph partially lights up to indicate the direction of tilt.

Now, I was hoping I could connect with the Nothing team for the following:

  • I’ve raised a request over 3 weeks ago and still haven’t recieved an API key. So I’m unable to launch the app.
  • The Glyph SDK does not allow me to control the glyph from the background. Is it possible to allow this? This app could have a real use case.

The project is cool, but I have doubts because the app does not ideally support 2a too.

To get a key you must fill the form, and give the details.

I suggest you to publish the app, even if has not a production key (so the team can test your app, just in case).

For the purpose of the app you don’t need running in background.

How do I download the app?? Where is the apk in githup?

      Hi all,
I’m still working on publishing the app to Playstore. Sorry for the delay 🙁

Had been busy building an app for google gemini API contest

      Edit [22nd Dec 2024]:

      Hi all,
I’ve released the app but it’s on debug mode since I wasn’t able to get the API key working -
Please follow the below instructions to use the app -

      1. Enable developer options by going to settings, going to build info and tapping on the build number 7 times
      2. Go to Settings>System>Developer Options>Enable “Glyph interface debug mode”
      3. Join this google group - nothingapps@googlegroups.com
      4. Become an app tester by joining here - https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.pixelify.nothing_gyro
      5. Download the app - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pixelify.nothing_gyro
      6. Note: Glyph interface debug mode turns off in 48 hours automatically, so you have to keep switching it on.

Sorry about the delay. Had a hectic last few months - participated in Google gemini contest, Reddit games hackathon & also got married!

      Happy glpyhing,

Congratulations on this project and on your wedding!

You’re right, for the moment access to the app from the Playstore isn’t working.
