Earlier this week, Nothing introduced a new variant of their latest smartphone, the Phone (2a) Special Edition, now some of you have ordered it and are starting to receive it, it’s time to talk about a secret feature of this Special Edition 👀.
Moving away from the traditional black/white color scheme, this Special Edition is a tribute to primary colors inspired by Bauhaus art, which comes from the German art school of the same name in the town of Dessau.
So where is this hidden functionality?
As you know, NothingOS is also very much in line with the monochrome black/white scheme of Nothing Phone series, but for this Special Edition, the developers have integrated an Easter Egg paying homage to the home of the Bauhaus Dessau campus, allowing NothingOS to adopt an aspect of this unique design on the home screen.
How to enable this?
It’s quite simple :
- On your Home Screen, long press and go to Widgets
- In the “Nothing Widgets” category, go to “Clock” and drop the “World” clock on your Home screen.
- Long Press the “World” Clock and go to “Widget settings”.
- Select “Specific city”
- Search “Dessau”
- Voilà! You should have a message telling you that you unlocked the “Special Edition Color”
- Go to “Colours” and select the Special Edition color icon.

Please note that this Easter Egg is only available on the Nothing Phone (2a) Special Edition.
