Hello!

I found problem with the personal profile (Nothing Ear (2024)): when using it, some “digital” noise/crackling appears in video/music (not in all media), similar to background noise when calibrating a personal profile. Its appearance does not depend on the codec (AAC/LHDC), but as the intensity of the profile decreases, the noise level also drops. I thought that the problem was that the profile specifically overestimated the frequency, but no: through the built-in “advanced” equalizer it was not possible to find the frequency causing this “digital” crackling/noise. Are there any suggestions on how to get rid of the problem (other than not using the personal profile)?

I would suggest redoing the sound profile first. If that doesn’t help, try forgetting them and re-pairing them. You could also try resetting them altogether by placing them in the case with the lid open, and holding the button for ~10 seconds until the red light flashes.

Derren Resetting, re-pairing and re-creating the profile does not help. The personal profile seems to greatly enhance the background noise of the music/video itself.

You may want to provide feedback using the Nothing X app. Alternatively, you can reach out to support with your concerns.

Same here. I’ll give as an example Another Love - Tom Odell at the beginning it’s so strong that it’s uncomfortable.

EDIT: Try set BT Audio codec - Savitech LHDC V3 and Playback Quality - High Audio Quality (900 Kbps) But I think that the Personal sound is not present even when looks that is turned on, in addition, 900kbps is turned off after disconnection. It’s simply a problem in Personalized Audio that creates background noise.

I just got my Nothin Ear headphones today. I am experiencing the same thing. On the latest firmware. When personal profile is off they sound great. I have contacted support was wondering if anyone else is having this problem and found this thread.

Good morning, I just bought the nothing ear 2024 and after making a custom profile for my hearing the sound becomes very bad. You hear artifacts in the sound as a metallic effect.

    Have you found a solution?

Yeah I had that with ear 2. I just disabled it. Not worth it.

I had similar issues with cracking and breaks in sound. However, this unwanted choppy and static sound happens if personal profile is on or off. I have nothing ear (2024) paired to Nothing Phone 2. The same unfortunate event happens when I pair to other devices. Its as if the Bluetooth signal is getting interrupted or jammed. I tested 3 different Bluetooth earbuds (Sennheiser momentum 3, Redmi Buds 5 Pro, and Razar Hammered Hyperspeed) was unable to reproduce the static-like, frequent full audio drops (2-7sec) that are frequently constant in the nothing ear (2024). I hope they are working on a solution and in the meantime if they could acknowledge that this is a problem it would be appreciated. This is not a one off there are several large reddit threads regarding the issue. I came here in hopes of an answer, c’est la vie.

I have also noticed this when creating a personal profile on the Ear (2024). For me, it appears in the high-end around the ~8-12k frequency range, and is in the background – once you hear it, you start to notice it more. Songs with violins tend to trigger it for me.

hi all, please find my reddit reply regarding this. (i suspect its actually caused by heavy multi-band compression at the top end)

your right, the solution so far is to not use the Personal Sound Profile, and stick with the advanced EQ.
