I really have mixed feelings about Apple Intelligence. In one hand, they say that basic AI taks will be handle locally by enabled by chipset that perform those tasks. But on the other hand, they clearly said that they will rely on a cloud based solution for tasks that are more hevy.
But we really don’t know what is the threshold between “basic tasks” and “heavy tasks”, it needs to be clearly identified for the consumer to know what they are dealing with in terms of privacy.
And the fact that they would use ChatGPT integration in addition for some other stuff makes me worry also. I’m glad that it’s not done by default and that people need to enable it.
Local AI is really the key challenge for future smartphone… Apple has maybe the right way to do it by making local AND cloud based performing specific actions. Let’s see how this unfold.
For IOS18… it’s really a joke to be honest, yes they have to present the new stuff, and there are great addition in terms of customization. But did they really have to present that like it was the innovation of the decade ?? Now we have blind Apple lovers that trash android for features that exist since 10 years 😂
I mean… Message schedling… It’s such a basic feature. Great to see that coming tho, finally
