It is very unlikely that Nothing specifically copied this one companys font style. It’s also very unlikely that this company came up with that font originally.
Dot fonts have been used in manufacturing for decades and can be found on a huge number of products, most commonly used to display expiry dates, batch numbers etc. While I don’t know the technical reason this is used, it may be due to the fact that it’s easy to program during the manufacturing process, it’s also clear and easy to read.
It is possible that some modern dot fonts take inspiration from this.
