Make Glyphs useful again

Glyphify v2 is now available here.

Glyphify v1 is an app made for Nothing phones (1, 2 and 2a) which aims to make the Glyph interface more useful by providing multiple features.

Here’s a brief description of Glyphify’s features:

Glyphifier

It’s an automatic composer, choose any song (.mp3, wav etc) and it will be converted into a Glyph synched ringtone with a better accuracy compared to the built-in Nothing algorithm.

Here’s a demo using Phone(2) with 33 zones mode:

Phone(2a)'s battery indicator

A missing feature present on other Nothing phones it’s back thanks to Glyphify.

I don’t own a 2a myself but that’s what it should look like on your phone:

Extended Essential

Essential notifications but using all the Glyphs, map any Glyph zone to any of your contact and also chose between two different light effect on a per zone basis: static and pulsing light

  • Glyphify v1 not working anymore

    Hi everyone,
due to the migration from Glyphify v1 to v2, the old app won’t work without Glyph debug mode ON.

I’m sorry for the inconvenience, unfortunately I cannot keep these two apps registered with the Nothing GDK at the same time.
If everything goes well you will able to download Glyphify v2 from the Play Store in the last week of september.

    Thanks for understanding

Oxytocin✨ I’m not sure if I can share the link for the apk (or the GitHub page for the release) as it’s against the rule of the forum.

If any moderator can give me the go I can share it in a few days😁

Fr4nKB I’m glad to see you’ve seen the guidelines and I appreciate you’re checking this upfront!

In this specific case, we’re talking about a Community Project which obviously we’re really excited about. In short: It is allowed, although we do prefer the following (copied this from Discord):

      • Applications must be open source and hosted on platforms such as GitHub to promote transparency and collaboration.
      • If you are sharing a download link (outside of Google Play), a link to a Virustotal scan must be included in your post. Additionally if the download is an APK, a link to a Koodous scan must be included too.

I’m glad everyone is this excited!
I managed to squash some bugs and test the app for Phone(2) and I can confirm it works.

At the time of writing is important to notice that:

        • Use “simpler” songs for the best results: higher BPM or songs with lyrics tend to make the effect less accurate
        • There’s no preview of the Glyph effect built in the app (I’ll add it in next version), once you have applied the ringtone go into android settings to play it on the actual Glyph interface
        • Android settings/Composer app glyph preview is bugged and doesn’t represent the final result
        • No tests were made on Phone(2a) so if you try the app give me a feedback here or on GitHub by opening an issue

Any suggestions or bug report is appreciated. If you like my work consider supporting me by starring the review on GitHub or by making this thread relevant to the admins: if we get enough attention this feature could be built into the Nothing Composer app.

          Hey 👋

Nice work, I think a lot of people are going to love a simple and easy to use tool such as this.

I’ve just tried a few tracks myself on my phone (2a) and the results are really promising.

I have noticed some of the current bugs as mentioned above. It would be great to get the previews working correctly, including in the composer app. Currently it’s just a constant strobe.

I wasn’t too sure about giving system access in order to apply the ringtone so instead I went to my ringtone settings and applied the ringtone via the .ogg file that was generated using the glyphify app.

I also noticed that when writing a name for the file it’s black text on a black background.

Other than that I’m going to continue testing on my 2a, really promising work 🔥

Derren I’m glad you like it and that it also works in Phone(2a).

The permission to change system settings is inevitable in order for the app to set the ringtone, it’s enforced by Android.

I’m looking to fix the strobe problem but it’s quite a pickle, the preview in the app will be added soon and the name not showing in the dialog is due to Light mode (I’ll fix it asap).

            Thx for the feedback

@Fr4nKB this is awesome and exactly what I was waiting for but you need to add a way to donate after the initial install, maybe a button in the top right corner so folks can donate after testing, works great!

It’s working well in Nothing 2a mobile also thanks bro 🥲❤️‍🔥
