CMF Phone 1 - Save photo to SDcard from Camera

Does anyone know how to save photos from the new CMF phone onto an installed SD card.? The phone sees the different cards I have tried but I can’t find an option under setting or the camera app to save onto the SD card. Not had this trouble with any other phone. Apart from that the CMF phone 1 is a bargain for £179. The screen is good, it’s fast to use and it looks OK.

Peter_jones100 I had this issue but with the micro sd card and game in the phone. you have to format the card into internal storage than things would start to save onto the micro sd only. But you also get the option to move things. around.

Peter_jones100 Asked ChatGPT, answered and verified that it works. You have to format the SD Card so that the CMF Phone will ready and use it as your default photo storage. Also the CMF Phone uses Google Photos as its native Photo viewer.

To format an SD card on your CMF-0 phone, follow these steps:

Insert the SD card into your phone’s SD card slot.
Go to Settings by swiping down the notification panel and tapping the gear icon, or by finding it in your app drawer.
Scroll down and tap on Storage.
Look for the SD card under portable storage.
Tap on the SD card option, then tap on Format or Format as internal storage, depending on your preference.
- Format will erase the card and prepare it for use as portable storage.
- Format as internal storage will allow the phone to treat the SD card as part of its internal storage.
Confirm the format by following the on-screen prompts.

Once the format is complete, your SD card will be ready to use.

They forgot about this , there is no option to save pictures on sd card. I spoke with nothing support about that , but they couldnt help. They say will contact with me when will be know resolution and now I waiting few days for answer from them.

Thanks for your reply marszyzk on this. It’s as I thought. It’s a bit pointless having an SD slot if you can’t save pictures straight to it. Was going to buy a second one of these phones for my wife but I don’t think I’ll bother. For the same price you can get a Moto g84 that has NFC and presumably an SD slot that works.

Still no option to save pictures on SD card. No accessories available… 🤷🏻 Whats’s wrong with them… in my opinion everything should be available straight away when phone premiere but wasn’t

Just had the same question, there should be an option for saving directly to sd card, it better be added in the next camera update

I have to agree with everyone else - this is utterly ridiculous, and has no bearing to cost or price.

I hope it’s just a software failing that they forgot to implement and will soon rectify, else it places the CMF 1 right near the bottom of poor budget devices.

I specifically bought SIX CMF 1 phones at 128GB telling family it would be cheaper doing it that size and then adding a cheap memory card for photos storage.

Don’t I look a right idiot to them all now!

PatrickRice I wrote a feedback in the ‘tips and feedback’ section in the settings, I suggest you to do the same with hopes that they may add it in the next software update

At least your phone accepts your SD card.

I am having a different experience. My phone wont even accept a Micro SD card. I tried three different ones, (one was brand new just in case the other two were indeed damaged) and it keeps telling me that they are corrupt or not formatted, or not recognized, etc. Meanwhile all the cards work just fine on different phones and PCs. What’s going on? Is there a fix for this?

My phone does not even recognize the SD card. So much for the “expandable option”.

And still no support about it from Nothing.

Just purchased my phone 1, but I cannot see a way of storing photos on to my SD Card inserted. The SD card is visible but I cannot see how to change the default location can anyone help?

Reyscorpiox64 with this option however, you cannot read the SD card with a PC or Mac.
