According to the official documentation for the Dimensity 7200 chipset, it supports NavIC, India’s regional satellite navigation system. However, the Nothing Phone 2A, which utilizes the Dimensity 7200 Pro, lacks NavIC support. I wonder why is that so?
Interestingly, the earlier Nothing Phone 2 did include NavIC compatibility. This discrepancy raises questions about why this feature isn’t enabled in the Phone 2A, especially considering its primary focus on the Indian market. Any updates or clarifications in this regard would be much appreciated.
Additionally, there’s a broader context: the Indian government is likely to make NavIC support mandatory for smartphones sold in India. All 5G phones will be required to support NavIC by January 1, 2025.
Whether the support for NavIC can be enabled through future software updates in Nothing Phone 2A remains an open question. Please clarify.
