I purchased a Nothing Phone 2a two days ago and am experiencing slow Wi-Fi speeds. Despite fast performance for Google services like YouTube and Play Store downloads, I’m facing significantly reduced speeds for other content. Are other Nothing Phone 2a users encountering similar issues? I’ve already tried troubleshooting steps including toggling airplane mode, resetting network settings, and even replacing the Wi-Fi router today. I’m currently running Nothing OS 2.6

I have Wifi in my home with 75 Mbps plan. My device kept buffering in YouTube videos when connected to wifi. In a speedtest, I found that the upload speed is fine but the Download Speed is so worse that my old tab gave me a 9 MB/s but the phone just gives 2 MB/s.

Please look into this and I doubt whether it’s is a software or hardware problem.

    Facing the same problem.

My wifi speed at home on the PC and other mobile devices reaches 70 to 120 mbps. On my nothing Phone 1, it doesn’t even reach 1 mbps.

Curiously I never had any kind of WiFi speed issue with my Nothing Phone 2a. Are you using VPN software on your phones? Do you have any Private DNS configured? In both situations you’ll get slower speeds. As you can see I just did a quick Speedtest and it’s not that bad.

It’s strange, but even though my Wi-Fi speed tests show it’s about ten times faster than my mobile data (which is around 10 Mbps), apps like YouTube, Instagram, and FaceTime actually work much better when I’m using mobile data. On Wi-Fi, no matter where I am, everything just keeps buffering and lagging. And no, I don’t have a VPN on.

mafcarvalho Haven’t had any thing done, and never used any VPN prior to now. It sort of happened after the last update. Settings in the developer option for download is set at no limit.

I came across a few other complaints with phone 1, 2, 2a regarding slow wifi speeds on Discord and Reddit. But nothing much to go from those posts.

AtoKhieya if it happened after the last update maybe you should try to do a factory reset of your phone. OS updates sometimes do strange things. I had a problem with the smart charging mode after an update and the only way to fix it was backing up my data and doing a factory reset.
I’ve also seen some of those posts on Reddit but I couldn’t find any simpler solution to your problem…

AdityaMandloi when I charged my phone at bedtime it didn’t pause charging at 80% to resume the last 20% before waking up alarm. I was annoyed because my previous phone was a Pixel 7a and it had that feature months before Nothing OS got it.
I sent feedback to Nothing and after some emails being exchanged we got it working.
