As you may have heard, our Community Board Observer position is currently vacant, which means it’s time for an election!
For those that are new, the Board Observer position was created to ensure that our community is represented at the highest possible level. It is the Observer’s task to watch, analyse and engage across our community platforms, and to build an understanding of what our members are thinking and feeling. It is their responsibility to then report back to Nothing’s Board.
So, who will take this prestigious position? Well, they will be elected by the community itself by means of a Community Board Observer Election.
What’re the criteria to be a candidate?
- Be a Nothing Community Dot Holder (Black or Red).
- Be a recognisable and active member in the community, frequently engaging with others.
You will also have the availability to commit to:
- Regular contact with the Mods and Community Manager on Discord.
- Attend quarterly Board meetings, in person or virtually (usually held on a Friday morning UK time).
- Communicate company decisions/strategy from Board meetings back to the community.
- Represent the community at key events when required – including being available for interviews.
How will this work?
The Community Board Observer will represent the Nothing Community in dedicated Board meetings every 3 months for 1 year (either via video call or in person). This is the most rewarding part of the role. The elected candidate may also have exclusive contact with our largest shareholders and CEO. They will get privileged insight into the most exciting things happening backstage (meaning an NDA may be required) and the responsibility to ensure that the community voice is heard and considered in future plans.
If you’re interested in this role, you’ll need to submit your candidacy via the form found in 🫵⎮cbo-apply on our Discord (visible only to verified Dot holders). Applications will then be reviewed by the team and a small group will be shortlisted for voting by the community. Voting will also take place on Discord in January.
Before you rush off and apply, you should keep in mind that this position isn’t meant to be a job, it’s voluntary. It’s giving you the opportunity to represent the community as the leader of the pack and gain insider access into Nothing.
Fancy the royal status? Submit your candidacy today and get ready to make us proud. Applications close 19th December 17:00 GMT.
