Ultra-wide camera issues on third-party camera apps
ShiveshGupta_2WuNhacrfu the best camera app a phone can have is the one that comes with the phone itself.
There are 2 ways of doing camera apps on Android: one using camera2api that offers a lot of control over the hardware (but it’s very difficult, because you have to account for so many different hw components) and an easy one with CameraX (give me the best camera module so I can shot a photo).
To check if the camera is really visible to third party apps you should download Camera2 api probe
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.airbeat.device.inspector
If all cameras are visible here it’s not a device fault, you just have to live with the fact that third party apps just want to shot a normal photo (like social apps) and complain to the single apps developer.
Mirko_ddd I knew it and I did it before I wrote this post here. The Camera2 api probe can’t see the ultra wide camera.
In theory You’re right, the best camer app on this phone is the main camera app, but in practice the Gcam port if I want to shot a photo or the Blackmagic camera for videos make much better results.
J_nosFejes Is the Wide camera available in those apps?
Not realy, therefore the post …
In a lot of apps my lenses don’t all show up.
On my pixel 5 in the BeReal app I could do 0.6x.
Now on the 3a none are showing up in any Apps not even in Instagram.
I’ve read a 2 year old reddit post that was already talking about this problem on nothing devices and it’s still a problem?
I would love to have this fixed.
Hey,
When will be Support for third Party Apps Like Snapchat, tiktok, dji… for the ultra wide Lens?
ShiveshGupta_2WuNhacrfu iPhone and Samsung only gave ultrawide in snapchat and Instagram no other phones have that option. Nothing personally need to contact them.
