Probably wouldnt recommend, if you do need to clean it, use either a wipe (not a disinfecting wipe) or a damp microfiber cloth, If any dirt or sand, etc. gets in the watch, you might wanna take it to a repair shop to get it professionally cleaned.
I did try these methods on the first gen watch (currently getting the 2nd) and it was safely cleaned, if you do however put it under running water (not recommended) it will probably be fine if you take it out fast but I wouldn’t wear it after and let it dry out.
