Amazing phone.

Many reviews had put me off and people in these forums saying battery life wasn’t particularly great after updates.

I did a lot of research and found Reddit threads where people stated that after the most recent updates the battery life began to stabilise after about a week.

I decided to jump in and bought the Nothing Phone 2 a few days ago.

I’m blown away.

The battery on 2.5.2 is outstanding as a new user. The phone is so smooth and fast in the nothing os.

The camera could be better, but it is still a great camera.

I have come from the 23+ and this phone beats that in all areas apart from the camera.

If Carl Pei decides to make the phone 3, if he keeps the processor one flagship behind the current release to keep price down, keeps fantastic battery life, glyphs, and adds a better camera and better IP water ingress rating I think it will be universally acclaimed.

I’m very happy with my purchase. I’m a fan of the aesthetic, OS, speed, stock android like experience and battery.

I will be watching closely and in 2 years consider my next nothing upgrade path if there is a viable option.

I highly suggest the phone 2, it is much better than what I have read on the forums and on many reviews.

Here is a picture of my cat I took with the camera 😁

Great to see that people are still making honest reviews ! The Reddit is a bit harsh to be honest. I have quite the same feeling as you regarding my Phone (2). Camera needs to be improved, but this area requires a lot of resources, and it’s really the most difficult part. It will get better over time, for sure 😉

So the story starts of with the fact that my One Plus 9 ended up getting the dreaded green like issue so I was left without a choice but to upgrade to the One Plus 11 which felt extremely fragile right from the moment I got it, like it literally got nicks and scratches just from breathing on it and I’m someone who can’t stand a phone with any marks on it.

Got rid of it eventually and moved on to (my mistake here) another curved phone which was the Moto Edge 40, turned out to be pretty much a nightmare when it came to battery life, ended up charging it at least 3 times a day and finding a quality case for it was impossible too.

Finally got rid of it and was on the lookout for a new phone, hopefully one that would bring back memories of my once favourite iPhone 7 plus which ticked all the boxes for me and after a ton of research, the nothing phone (2) seemed to do so and honestly I think it’s the best phone I’ve had since a while now.

I’ll start with the negatives cause there aren’t too many and it’s nit picking and hoping for these to be included in the phone (3) and some in future software updates:

  • Whilst the display is great, would have loved for it to be a 2k display, maybe this could be a thing with the phone (3)
  • Vibration & Haptics need a bit of work, it feels kinda metallic at times whilst typing, maybe it could be something fixed in a software update?
  • I wish the glyph progress worked on more apps like Spotify, Swiggy etc in future software updates and also maybe could be lightly coloured in the phone (3) to match the app being used.
  • Faster charging, whilst the battery is decent, the charging speed could be a lot better.
  • More widgets designed by nothing for music apps like Spotify.
  • Dolby Atmos support
  • E-Sim support

Now the positives:

  • I absolutely love the design aesthetic of the device as well as the UI, I really think Nothing has nailed it here and should stick with and make minor polishes over changing anything. I feel like they’ve found the magic portion here in terms of brand identity which no one apart from Apple has until now.
  • Whilst I see a lot of people complaining about the camera, I think it’s far superior to the one I used on the OnePlus 11 and Moto Edge 40, although details could be improved a wee bit, apart from that no complaints.
  • Battery life is solid, although I’ll never complain if it gets better.
  • I’ve used the phone in scorching heat down here in Chennai and it’s never once gotten even warm, props to the cooling department.
  • Excellent audio output over Bluetooth and the phone speakers as well.
  • Phone calls are crisp and clear with no call drops.
  • I loved the packaging, especially the bundled sim ejector tool and charging cable which are so unique, I wish there was glyph lighting in the charging cable though and they bundled a glyph lit charger too or atleast sold one as an accessory.

At the end of the day, it’s a fantastic phone and it’s made me very happy after being highly frustrated with my phone’s recently.

I do wish a Nothing Watch is launched soon too, to compete with the One Plus Watch 2, because it’s looking likely I’ll be forced to get the One Plus Watch 2 as an upgrade to my current One Plus Watch or compromise with the CMF watch.

Please launch a pair of pro grade buds with the glyph interface and Dolby Atmos with Dual Drivers and you’ll have a customer waiting here for it.

Cheers Nothing, it’s been good so far. 🫡

I agree with you buddy. I don’t know why people are complaining about it so much.

I love my phone 2 and everything works great. I know camera could be little better as per the price point but it takes decent pics. If you want a better quality, get a camera.

The OS is fluid and I have had no issues so far.

    Shubh

Exactly. Despite being nowhere near in terms of price to even the OnePlus 12, it offers a flagship experience like the S24 Ultra or iPhone Pro.

Have you tried android auto or apple connect with your car, phone have issues with connection in many cars

Biggest con in the camera is its shutter speed, it’s too low. This hurts when you are trying to click a photo when you’re in motion as the shutter is slow. They should work on this and also the detailing of the pics.

PrasannaKulkarni Don’t use them, I find touch screen related things extremely gimmicky in cars to begin with.

I use a regular Sony stereo with Bluetooth and it works a charm.

Haven’t found it any slower than the One Plus 11 I had. If anything the shots on that were slightly worse.

Also, it’s miles ahead of the Moto Edge 40 this replaced, that really struggled to even get a clear shot when holding it dead steady.

I wasn’t expecting it to give the quality you’d get from a DSLR + Expensive lens so I guess I’m not really feeling conned in any way.

1st time own a Nothing Phone (2) and I couldn’t be more happy. I’m so satisfied with the way phone works on a day to day basis, that I also purchased the nothing watch 2 and the buds a. I’ve heard that there were some bugs at the beginning, however looks like Nothing is listening and updated everything. I changed phones every 3-4 months. I had the latest and the most expensive phones, however I never thought I will enjoy this phone so much. My friends are asking me every day, what phone is that, and after showing a few tricks, they are blown away by the battery, photos, and overall performance. Thank you Nothing and looking forward to the NP 3

The microphone is terrible. My 5 year old Samsung had a much better microphone. It makes using the Merlin App almost unusable. They sell an expensive poor quality charging cable. This company is all about hype with little substance. I would suggest staying away.

Merged 1 post from Nothing Phone 2 Phone blows, but not as much as their terrible customer service.
