Hi everyone.

I’ve already made a post a while aho on Reddit about my app Glyph Compass that utilizes the glyph interface of Nothing phones to work as a compass. However, I completely overhauled the look and feel of the app and just recently bought myself a NP1 to fix a bug regarding phone1.

Any feedback is very welcome to improve the app even further in future updates.

    Nice app but is the location permission necessary?? and even when you exit the app the glyphs won’t turn off

      Anonymous3 Thanks for testing the app. Yea location permission is necessary as it includes access to the phones compass. Android does not distinguish between between raw compass and postional data. However, I can guarantee that your location won’t tracked or stored in any way. For more information you can also always check the privacy policy of the app.

      Regarding the issue with glyphs not turning off: What Nothing phone model do you use? Glyphs might stay on when the app runs in the background. However, they should all turn off when the app is properly closed.

        Am using the Phone 2 I tried closing the app in fact I terminated it completely but still the glyphs were on so I had to restart my phone to get the glyphs to turn off

          Anonymous3 That is really weird as I am using a Phone 2 too. And I never had the issue of glyphs staying on. Could you try to open the app wait 5sec and then close the app. I’ve encountered with the NP1 that the glyph sdk might need some inital starting time to recognize a new glyph user.

              JayKay135 on phone 2a the position of glyph on the phone and in app is opposite. When the long curved light on phone is on the straight line glyph of the app is shown as lit and vice versa.

                  AbhayKrishna_6MjicsL4Jq Oh thats really weird. Thanks for pointing it out. I will try to investigate the reason for it and provide a fix in the next update. It is unfortunately quite difficult to debug the glyph interface of the individual phones without actually owning them. I was just so annoyed byy a bug with the phone 1 that I bought one besides my actual phone 2. However, buying every nothing phone is also not a viable long term solution. But I will see what I can do ;D

                        Hi, glyphs are staying on even after closing the app

                          Huzi Hi. Thanks for testing the app. Glyphs staying is unfortunately a non issue with NP1 devices based on the current glyph API. I’ve experienced with the NP1 that all glyphs should be turned off when the app is started and properly closed after a short delay of around 5sec. Please share if this hotfix does not work for you
