Update - The camera issue has been resolved after I installed the latest update (1st September 2024)

So the 2a Plus has a really good camera. For most scenarios it outputs really good looking pictures but when it comes to clicking pictures of people in artificial lighting (in sunlight, it puts out really good photos), after processing, the faces of people look very weird as if their faces are extremely oily/sweaty. And also for beard/hair instead of having some details, it kinda makes it look a big bunch of black spot on the face. Only happens under artificial light. Before clicking the photo, the preview in the viewfinder looks good but after it is done processing, the photos look very weird. I’m hoping Nothing could fix it with a software update and this isn’t an issue with my specific unit. Other than this issue, the cameras are great. I’m on the latest update btw

I get only 1 photo bad with color issues in face, yes we should wait for next camera update.

Derren changed the title to Nothing Phone (2a) Plus - Camera Feedback .

MrBloodyHyphen- i have the same issue, in artificial light, everything is ok when photo is taken, but then after, the algorithm change colors and smooth everything, it’s a big problem for me as i taken pictures of objects, and colors are wrong. I’d like to desactivate this algorithm. If someone knows how to, let me know! I’m not happy at all with this new phone because of it

I’m extremely frustrated to report that I’m still facing the same issues with the camera after clicking a picture. I updated to the latest OS, but nothing has changed. This is unacceptable!

A family member was considering purchasing the Nothing 2A Plus, but I outright denied recommending it. Why would I suggest spending a significant amount on a phone that delivers 0 stars in camera performance? The AI is ruining image quality with color changes after processing.

This needs to be addressed immediately. Get it sorted out!

Being a fan of nothing phone for a while now, I upgraded from the 2a to the 2a Plus. Both front and back camera qualities are offensively bad. You can’t help but feel scammed thinking that you got a better and upgraded phone from the 2a. There has been no positive response about any good upgrades to the camera on the 2a Plus and I’ve tried almost every app on the market to optimise the camera on this phone. It’s just that bad. I am more so annoyed with the selfies as they are almost always out of focus. I’ve seen many threads with people sharing the same concerns but no positive response from the team for the same, making you wonder what the purpose of these discussion forums are.

immanuelsamc the numbers of megapixel is not improving anything, the quality of the sensor and the software is the key for success like in google pixel devices.

is a better option then to just move to a better phone? because this is starting to feel like a lost battle. My hype for the Phone (2a) Pls got over as soon as I clicked a picture on it. Facepalm moment when I realized I should have waited till I actually got to try the phone in hand before purchasing it. Really make me feel like the novelty of liking and supporting the brand and their products are gimmicky, with no attention to detail.

Hi - I bought Nothing 2a Plus couple of months ago and I still see delay in photo processing. I had read about this in review before buying it but was Ok with assurance that updates will fix this. But the processing time seems more than a second or two and it is really frustrating considering that usually do not invest much amount in phones. Does anyone find this issue on their phone? Also I don’t feel my images are safe with all being saved in Google Photos. It should be saved on a local drive, awaiting that feature if it all it is possible to bring that. Would like to hear from community.

I got my 2a plus about a week ago. The image quality that comes out of the cameras are a big letdown. In sunlight it’s all good. Great, even. But somehow all other cases feel overprocessed. I have a beard and the front camera does some funky things to it. First of all, it cannot get me in focus for some reason, but the processing sharpens my face which kinda saves it. But it doesn’t recognize the beard, so at about chin level it goes from artificially sharpened to blurry as heck. I thought about sending it back, but i tried instagram to snap a picture and i was perfectly in focus. I purchased Nothing because I really like what they stand for in the tech space and I like their products. I really hope this gets fixed real soon. They seem to react to community feedback with their updates. 🤞

After capturing any photo the image processing blurr the photo and the pixels are not visible clearly…it basically [ruined] the image….and also the night mode photos are more [messed] up as compared to normal images…….do something about this in your next updates
