Hey Community!
Welcome to the September Journal for the Community Edition Project.
At time of writing, the final hardware design has been locked in and the suite of wallpapers are now complete! Ian has also just finished up his work on the packaging design. All that’s left is for Sonya, our final winner, to deliver a beautiful creative campaign.
Earlier this week, @Ian_H_Simmonds dropped by our London HQ once again to review some packaging samples. Since he worked on the winning submission, he created multiple revisions, inching towards a final design that accurately represents the final hardware design - for example, refining minute details of the Glyph Interface and the camera lenses. The biggest challenge has been matching that all-important glowing green colour in print. It’s been a long process, but we made it!
We had another exciting visitor in August. @Palmix Art aka Sonya, the winner of Stage 4: Marketing Campaign, flew to London to work with the Community and Brand teams to further develop her concept, ‘Find your light. Capture your light’. The day involved a number of working sessions for us to really understand Sonya’s concept before building a plan to help bring it all to life. It’s already looking very exciting!
We have a short film in the works, a product page for nothing.tech, social media assets and more… and speaking of marketing, thank you to everyone that submitted their creative treatment for Stage 4: Marketing Campaign. It was a joy to read through (and watch!) all of them. We truly have a talented group of creators in our community.
As always, we’d like to give a few shoutouts to some of the community’s favourite submissions…
@Uday - ‘Like attracts Like.’
@flo_rahil - Co-Created. Brilliance.
@Keerthan - Follow the Light.
Over the next couple of days, the annual IFA (Innovation for All) exhibition will happen in Berlin. Just last night, members of the Nothing Team hosted a gathering, inviting journalists, YouTubers and friends of the brand to hear from Co-Founder @Akis on Nothing’s journey, the Phone (2a) Plus availability in Europe, and to thank everyone for their support in 2024. Displayed at the event, were displays with all four winners’ concept work, alongside a huge wall celebrating community entries to Stage 1: Hardware Design. Can you spot your submission?
As we come to the end of the submissions and voting stages of The Community Edition Project, we’d like to recognise the efforts of everybody who participated in the project since its launch in March. In total, the project received over 1000 submissions over the four stages, and thousands of votes! And, finally, a co-created phone made with the Nothing Community. We can’t wait to share it with you.
Keep an eye out here on nothing.community and our socials in the coming months to find out more about the Phone (2a) Community Edition launch. And, remember, we’ve only revealed the concepts so far, not the final co-created products! There’s a lot to look forward to…
