Merged 1 post from FONT : NOTHING OS 3.0.

Devyn the dot font only gonna shows on the lockscreen and no longer on settings and other apps and stuff

bein tuff break 🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️ bring it back Carl pei

I disagree big time. The dot font is absolutely hideous and makes things hard to read. They should remove it entirely and just use dots in the design language and animations only.

SamosaJalebi I respect you opinion as a consumer, but you see that the DOT is the identity of NOTHING itself, plus everyone loves the font thingy, instead if remove it entirely, maybe added a theme section wih 2 Default font selection (DOTTED and NewFont thingy).. i forgot the name lol

It is a closed beta only. Maybe they use a new font for us to see if the community will like it or not. Hope they will bring the dot matrix font.

The new font is the same font used in the date widget. when the date widget came out, i already think they will use that font to replace the dot matrix font.

If the dotted fonts are not looking good as per the 3.0 style can you please try to reduce the each dot size itself so that all the text bigger and smaller text will look seamless. But completely eliminating the dot font will definitely affect nothing’s uniqueness.

I am a full stack developer i know font plays a significant role in UI design, but Whatever font is choosen based on which the entire os 3.0 is being developed let that be there in default but keep an option to choose the classic dotted fonts, with an warning ⚠️ ( until UI elements are properly set up to accept dotted fonts) that this font integration is under development some issues will be there if you choose this font.

It’s an win win situation 😺

At least add an option to remove it, it annoys me too much. and add a gallery to the phone, its such a disgrace that i have to use google photos to view my gallery

Even if the design team couldn’t find or commission a similar font to replace Ndot, in my opinion Ntype 82 is NOT a replacement, it ruins the whole image of both the system and the Nothing brand. Ntype 82 looks very much like typewriter fonts from the 50’s and 60’s, it gives both the system and the Nothing brand an outdated, archaic look. Even using fonts analogous to Apple’s SF UI or Google’s Roboto would have yielded a much better result. It saddens me to see that Nothing’s design team doesn’t realize this.

In general, it seems that the brand itself doesn’t understand and can’t build its identity, such drastic changes in design don’t set the right mood, don’t add loyalty and confidence to users.
