I think Carl mentioned in the video that the N-Dot was not possible to implement in android v15 system wide during the launch of the ear open, that is to my understanding, but hopefully there will be more clarity or we could be surprised that the N-Dot does remain in the final release.

As learnt in Nothing OS 3.0 you are going to remove the dotted Fonts. I am to say that the dotted Fonts is the specialty of Nothing. Pl. don’t change it , rather try to develop it making more clean and attractive.

What Nothing is trying to do now {with the removal of N-Dots font) is exactly what lot of parents does to their children:

Child: “I want to go and play Football/Party with my friends”. Parents: “No, you better sit and Study.”

Child: “But all my friend have gone to play football/Party!!! ”. Parents: “But you are ”Unique". […N-DOTS]

Now when the child grow up:

Grown up child: “I now know that I am unique [….N-DOTS…], So I will choose to become an Artist.”

Parents:“ Get lost with your Uniqueness {….N-DOTS….], Go and get a normal job (font) in an IT company .just like all your friends (other brands) did.” 😂

Remember what happened when the same “COLOR’S” were filled in all the three Jars by our old friends.

I know Style is a subjective thing. So all I request is to give us an option for those who wish to keep the N -Dot Style as it is or migrate to New style. Or provide something like a Theme page where it can be selected and applied.👍

See it’s just my opinion that nothing should not remove the dot font from the settings text font and from the dotted time because that’s the thing which make this brand unique u ot ruin it by putting th normal text font like other brands or you can just give a option to change it from dot theme to plain theme (thanks regards a 2a user )

Thanks for all the feedback. We went a bit too hard on this and instead should have evolved our design language more gradually over time.

We’re adding N-dot back as a lock screen clock option, and looking into adding it as an option in Settings.

    Carl I like how it has evolved to animation. N Dot is the identity of Nothing and It was the first thing that got me interested in this brand. But todays video made it very clear that N Dot is staying and thats a breeze.

      burakdede Design is always subjective. Some like it and some dont. As they have mentioned a gazillion times, N Dots are good as design elements and for headers. They cannot be used frequently in any readable texts. And this is what they are going for. I mean it couldnt be clear than that. It suits better on widgets than on text.

          Ali Fakhruddin my reply was not about using or not using NDot. It was about them adding an option to revert a design change because some users don’t like it.

          If they’re going to do the same with upcoming design changes in future it’s going to be cluttered with lots of toggles and get underwhelming real quick.

          Btw, I was one of the first to suggest you to reduce using NDot in your community projects on Discord and Reddit. So I guess I totally get their idea.

              burakdede I agree. People dont like toggles, too many if there is. But we are talking about reverting the entire UI wherever N Dots are used. Painstaking if i imagine.
