Rob ⚡️ probably not much, as it’s Apple and it’s a closed point of vue. But maybe we will see some fancy hack for it

I’d normally be watching live but I have to be out of town tomorrow and when the keynote starts I’ll be starting up a new SCADA. I’ll have to watch at night after I get home. I don’t expect to see anything that will make me want to pull out my credit card, I already have a 14 Pro and a Watch SE 2nd Edition. Maybe next year.

I’m actually eager to see what features the expected Apple Watch Series 9 will offer. My Series 7 has a deep crack in the display. So much for the advertising claiming it was “the most durable” and had “the most crack-resistant front crystal yet.” The Apple Watch Series 8 was a minor improvement over the 7, with a new chip and a new temperature sensor, as far as I recall. The Apple Watch Ultra is overkill for my use case (and I believe for many people’s use cases as well).

When Nothing (CMF) plans to launch the smart watch, happy to give it a thorough testing 😉 I’ve been wearing my watch basically 24/7 for the last 21 months

I only use my Apple Watch on work days and then only to triage notifications. I’m definitely not their target audience.

Remi F If they have the action button, I’m curious to see what their use case would be. I can see it getting triggered accidentally, and having a phone go off silent would be really annoying.

MaxSoliman I also have a series 7! Didn’t upgrade to series 8 for the same reasons… the temperature sensing and cycle tracking is a great feature but not enough for an upgrade. I’d want to see a number of in-depth health tracking features added (Rob showed me the stress tracking on his Garmin today… so good to be aware of stress throughout the day!)

And, battery life upgraded past 18hrs… having to charge before bed is annoying!

Battery life on the SE Gen2 is amazing tbh. I end the day (6am to 8pm) with almost 70% nearly every day.

Guys, my startup for tomorrow got rescheduled so there is an off chance that I might get to watch the event live. Probably still won’t get to watch live but there is a chance lol.

Xu_Nothing Honestly, I rarely plug my iPhone in. Since I can’t use it as external storage like I can my Phone (2) I just don’t bother, I use Qi charging instead.

Natalie ✨ totally agree! I wonder how the new ios will implement wellbeing tracking and whether it will have any unique implementation for users with an apple watch 🤔

I feel like my battery health being at 87% is respectable considering my heavy usage over the last 1.75 years. But there is definitely room for improvement on that front. If I had the money I would want to test a bunch of different watches and see what suits mu usage best, but without that option the safe bet is the Apple watch

I’m most intrigued to see how they approach the whole USB-C fiasco, and whether or not they make a ‘revolutionary’ version. Not long to go now 👀

MaxSoliman True, had mine for almost 2 years now! I’d love to try a Garmin but the one I like is too expensive to buy spontaneously while my Series 7 is still good enough - let’s see what’s announced later 👀

Looks like a solid product but super underwhelming. It’s no surprise really, Apple doesn’t need to take any risks and this phone shows. Obviously they had to change to USB Type C but what’s the point if nothing besides the actual port changed? Same charging speeds as before as far as I can tell. I’m sure it’ll sell well but hard to justify dropping $1,199 for the Pro Max. Stick to my Phone 2 for now 😉

Rob ⚡️ I don’t feel compelled to buy anything they announced yesterday. This is the first year for me to feel this way since the iPhone 5 was released.
