What do you guys think about the new Google Pixel 9 line-up?

Google’s Pixel phone lineup is getting a little bigger this year. The Pixel 9 series now counts one standard model — the Pixel 9 — and three Pro models: the Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, and Pixel 9 Pro Fold. They all offer updated designs, new Tensor G4 processors, and AI features up the wazoo.

I think that Google finally looks like a premium device with an innovative rounded design, they took inspiration from Nothing haha, an innovative processor, a device that is based entirely on AI, a flaw in the cameras, a beautiful, unimaginably bright screen, there is no debate about the quality of the cameras, I think that this time they succeeded in making a really classy device,

so what do you think about the models and the progress of the series?

Pixel out did itself and entered the flagship zone as a strong contender to samsung and apple.

I had a pixel 9 great camera good hardware but I found the software buggy and that was very frustrating I did not get a chance to use thee AI as I sent it back and swapped it for a different handset I did like it but it was the software that let it down , maybe with android 15 it may improve and be more stable .

I’ve had a few Pixels (1, 3, 7 & 8) and they’ve always be well built devices, that you want to love but, are let down by something. In the tensor era that has always been battery or, thermals. I’ve never felt a phone get as warm as the Pixel 7 did during initial setup and data transfer. With all of that said;

Google are setting themselves up well with the Pixel 9… they acknowledge that the boxy iPhone design is familiar to most so, a good design to lean into and, then they’ve done a decent job of the line up i.e. 9, 9 Pro, 9 Pro XL & Fold. It’s very complete. They look and feel great in person, too. Let’s see how they age, I still have tensor reservation and the value of some of these AI features are yet be proven but, it’s a good gateway (like Nothing is) for iPhone users looking to make the switch.
