Google pay not working

Google pay was working until about June 2024, has anyone’s Google pay stopped working on nothing phone 1? NFC is on, cards are valid (same cards work on gpay on Samsung s21), Google pay is set as default, can’t work out why gpay doesn’t work. Any idea?

Rakesh_kumar Tried another app today, went to test it by buying a coffee at the local coffee house, and NADA! Same nonsense, it didnt work.

Hi, is the bootloader unlocked or, any rooting? Does your NFC work for other activities?

I’d reboot the device, and test.

Remove and reads cards, and test.

And, failing that backup and reset. And see if that works.

Hi, faced the same issues several days back on nothing phone 1, did you find any solution?

a_brenchev Sorry mate, no progress whats so ever. I’m going to wipe the phone, just been backing it up to an external HD in preperation. Will wipe it next week. I’ll keep you posted if the gpay starts working as a wipe.

Did you unlock your phone when trying to pay? Google introduced this additional security layer in summer.

Sure thing, still payment terminals shows some strange error like “Remove card”

T101- In my case, I did a full restore two weeks ago and GPays worked but only for 3 days, and I am again facing the same issue.

I sent a new message to service support last week, at the moment no answer from them, but Amazon has offered a fulll refund and I am going to take it.

So I wiped out my phone and it didn’t help. But turned out that for some reason NFC payments weren’t working because of work profile set up on my phone. I removed work profile from android policies and it works again

a_brenchev Well, I was using Work Profile since the beginning,, a year ago and I never had problems until this last month. When I did the wipe I had also enabled work profile and, as I said, it only worked for 3 days,

Anyway it is too late in my case, because I I have now a Pixel 8 pro and I have returned to Amazon my NP2.

BTW,I sent a new claim to Nothing customer support one week ago and I have no answer.

ninastekovic as said, in my case it was due to work profile set up on my phone. Removing work profile solved this issue for me
