I have always been very respectful and understand the difficulty in these issues.
What bothers me is that, despite my criticism and constructive messages, we do not receive a single message to know if they are working on improving the camera or not.
It would be appreciated if someone from the team said: âYes, we know that the camera is poor, we are working and in X months a big update will be releasedâ
But no, for months there has been a deep silence about the camera, itâs starting to scare me.
Some information would be nice, more active communication regarding all the problems with the algorithm and status of the camera.
I just bought the phone 2 two days ago. One of the main reasons why I opted is because of the camera performance. The moment I take selfies, the picture looks so sharp that my skin pores are visible and looks so unnatural, even though the skin tone if good. With the main camera, the HDR is really making the images looked so unnaturally processed. I found out that the HDR cannot be turned of which is annoying. Is there anybody who is on the same lines with me ?
Hey there, I have been using the Phone (2) for about a week now and coming from the Pixel 6a I have updated my phone to the latest firmware and I knew the camera wasnât as good but thatâs wasnât the issue really. When I do take a good photo it really is good and sometimes better than the Pixel but there are many issues regarding using the camera reliably.
1- First thing I noticed is that many shots I take gets to be blurry from the slightest movement of my hand so itâs really annoying to find out my picture was blurry even though I couldnât notice that on the viewport.
2- Whenever I open the camera to take a quick shot I get delayed by the so slow and sometimes unresponsive focusing which really takes time and I feel we also lack a tracking system but I think the slow focusing should be fixed first in order to have that.
3- The âMacro modeâ shouldnât be in itâs own option as thereâre no standalone macro camera for that and even if there was, the camera app should be able to detect when an object is close enough to enable macro mode by itself. Itâs tiresome to go to that option everytime.
4- The processing speed is surprisingly slow for the 8+ chip. I was expecting it to be much faster than the pixel 6aâs tensor chip but nope, it wasnât at all. I mean when after I take a picture I need to wait about 5 second for my picture to be processed and also the slow focusing issue.
Sorry if those issues were reported before I made sure to check a couple threads about photography but couldnât find these issues. I think thereâre essential as the most important thing about a phone camera is itâs reliability to be quick and responsive. I have been throughly enjoying the Nothing Phone (2) but the Camera is my main issue so far. Thanks.
Camera is the major drawback for nothing phone 2, software is ok for now, now software team must work on camera improvement and they must give an update to nothing phone 2 having all the camera improvements.
SubhashChandra_SvMF8IUUIw Youâre not alone. HDR processing is worse especially when it comes to human subjects on phone 2. They havenât properly optimised it.
When we can get camera improvement update for phone 2?
We need a huge update having camera improvements. Isnât nothing supposed to be the company that listens to its community?

We beg you to please improve camera processing. Untill now you said the company is new but now itâs not new anymore. You all & Carl says we want to provide best & make tech fun again.
But the thing is camera is getting worse. I donât know what you are doing. It seems like you are focusing on just Sales & Promotion only.
Iâve attached the photos taken by me. Just zoom into it & see the faces, youâll know why I am so mad.
Even my 7 year old Mi Max gives good result. Yeah itâs old & only 16 mp camera of that old technology time but still the result of human subject in photo is decent enough to compare with this.
If that outdated technology & camera can do. Then what happened to @changename On the launch ofPhone (2) you said premium & latest camera. But whatâs the use of it if it doesnât please us. Why should one prefer nothing & recommend to others after seeing this much of poor performance specially in camera department. Because nowadays Camera is first priority for everyone. Thatâs why people chooses Apple, Samsung & Google over any other brands.

hey nothing phone team, I saw your camera advertisement about phone 2a, I donât think what you showed there is real 
. I took photos with my phone 2 last week and, as usual they are perfectly worst.
This is feedback for the Nothing camera software devs specifically. Stop trying to emulate sony camera picture profiles. They are bland, have poor white balance, and is probably the reason a lot of reviews are saying that the photos donât look true to life. That said, i have very much enjoyed the convenience of the camera app on Phone 1(software is much improved on Nothing OS 2), and as far as phone cameras go, Iâve said it before, but it is the only phone since the iphone SE that i feel comfortable not bringing any of my camera kit with me, be it my full frame to my crop sensor gear. Even more recent iphones up to 13 didnât get that treatment from me. I am a very picky photographer in terms of how quickly i need to be able to take the photos, but also I need to know that the colours will not be significantly off from what my eye sees. Phone 2a looks to be moving away from real life, and towards whatever trendy thing worked for sony.

Why do I say that camera in Nothing is very bad? Because it is!
Yes the distance to the motive is around 1 - 2 kilometres, but same for both cameras. Samsung phone was bought summer 2022 and Nothing summer 2023. Samsung has OK camera, Nothing has Nothing in camera OK.
