We need a huge update having camera improvements. Isn’t nothing supposed to be the company that listens to its community?

We beg you to please improve camera processing. Untill now you said the company is new but now it’s not new anymore. You all & Carl says we want to provide best & make tech fun again.
But the thing is camera is getting worse. I don’t know what you are doing. It seems like you are focusing on just Sales & Promotion only.
I’ve attached the photos taken by me. Just zoom into it & see the faces, you’ll know why I am so mad.
Even my 7 year old Mi Max gives good result. Yeah it’s old & only 16 mp camera of that old technology time but still the result of human subject in photo is decent enough to compare with this.
If that outdated technology & camera can do. Then what happened to @changename On the launch ofPhone (2) you said premium & latest camera. But what’s the use of it if it doesn’t please us. Why should one prefer nothing & recommend to others after seeing this much of poor performance specially in camera department. Because nowadays Camera is first priority for everyone. That’s why people chooses Apple, Samsung & Google over any other brands.

hey nothing phone team, I saw your camera advertisement about phone 2a, I don’t think what you showed there is real 
. I took photos with my phone 2 last week and, as usual they are perfectly worst.
This is feedback for the Nothing camera software devs specifically. Stop trying to emulate sony camera picture profiles. They are bland, have poor white balance, and is probably the reason a lot of reviews are saying that the photos don’t look true to life. That said, i have very much enjoyed the convenience of the camera app on Phone 1(software is much improved on Nothing OS 2), and as far as phone cameras go, I’ve said it before, but it is the only phone since the iphone SE that i feel comfortable not bringing any of my camera kit with me, be it my full frame to my crop sensor gear. Even more recent iphones up to 13 didn’t get that treatment from me. I am a very picky photographer in terms of how quickly i need to be able to take the photos, but also I need to know that the colours will not be significantly off from what my eye sees. Phone 2a looks to be moving away from real life, and towards whatever trendy thing worked for sony.

One from Nothing 2 with latest update - one from a Samsung A53 with latest update. Both in highest resolution and Android 14.
Why do I say that camera in Nothing is very bad? Because it is!
Yes the distance to the motive is around 1 - 2 kilometres, but same for both cameras. Samsung phone was bought summer 2022 and Nothing summer 2023. Samsung has OK camera, Nothing has Nothing in camera OK.

camera it is not performing well, looking absolutely poor even 25000 below value phn giving good pictures. It doesn’t looking like 50 megapixel. Few times it is giving good photos “only few times” . I am getting fear that, is their any problem with my mobile unit only, just completed one month.
White balance, overshadow, flare, auto hdr ruining the photos. Iam unable to upload sample photos ….we have hope in you , can clear it with one update. Please optimize it.

I believe Nothing is wrong with your phone. Nothing is good in my camera either. Just like so many have reported in the forum. Also I do not believe it is going to be fixed. Maybe Nothing has no good software people, because SONY hardware is normally very good. Have an old SONY almost 20 years old and this take better pictures than the 2023 Nothing 2 phone, also a cheaper Samsung A53 has far better resolution and more accurate colours.
All we can do is not buy more from Nothing. Unless a miracle should happen and Nothing come with an update that take care of the problems, which I doubt.
HKBardia I second that… worst camera on outdoors at natural lighting and when zooming in the taken pic or the live zoom …any way the camera is very very bad…only good in close up shots good is not really good by good I mean acceptable. They must do something about it…the hardware is capable. Atleast pls don’t post process it …. Give us what we see on the screen that much processing is enough…the stupid and idiotic post processing and non toggle hdr is a big let down. Zero satisfaction on nothing camera. Camera is just nothing as per the brand.
The camera is performing absolutely garbage in lower light situation, the post-processing HDR darkens areas so much, its looking comic like and not realistic at all. And no way to disable HDR processing… thats a big joke. Please guys, love most about that phone, but if the camera quality stays like this, i will have to go back to a pixel again… sigh…
Scenarios when the front and back cameras perform poorly :-
- Against the light during daytime as well as indoors.
- Zooming above 2x.
- Under low light conditions.
Since there is no inbuilt gallery app with editing features, we ought to use third party apps to do the same which may/may not produce desirable results. Also, since HDR can’t be switched off, we are forced to use the pics clicked by the cam, as is. But hey, let’s not talk about this, instead focus on introducing new widgets which majority of users won’t use…

I am using my NP2 since 3 months facing below issue related to camera ;
Picture are coming like we have applied some filters on it when we click in day time outdoor when sun rays are bright.
Portrait blur not looks natural.
Light flares are coming when sun is towards camera.
Slow motion 4k videos is stucking while playing.
A humble request to nothing team, you guys have made a great software experience, only concern with camera optimisation, for some time please focus on camera optimisation and improvement l, because rest of the software is great. We can wait for 2 month for the next update no issue, but please push next NOS2.5.3 updates with above camera improvement.

No GCAM app is written by Google for the phone, so you are on your own.
I wait till my wife think I deserve a new phone which will be from another company. No more Nothing products for me. Maybe, if Nothing has money enough to, and want to keep customers enough, they will hire a competent programmer that can make the camera function to the best of the hardware in it, coud change that.
i dont useually use the camera app on the np2 but mostly on 50mp without zoom. it was working fine but when i tried to use the 2x zoom and change the camera the photos are offcous and blurry. never dropped the phone whatsoever. any suggestions as to what i should do?

Nothing team will only reply if you appreciate something, on issues specially camera issue for Phone 2, no one is going to reply bro.
Even they are not able to fix camera issues, they can request users to use gcam officially.
