Nothing Phone (2) camera feedback

There are quite a few that think that the camera is good and I get so disappointed everytime I take a photo of something colourful. Which I actually often do since I love temples for ex. And sunsets..

This is a photo that I took today. The sky was bright orange/red, actually bright, and very beautiful, my photos comes out a lot duller.

I don’t have a photo to share to compare with, but I tried all the different combinations of the settings for flash and HDR and they all came out more or less similar. I sneaked a peak on the girls phone next to me and that looked like the sky looked, not like it looked on my phone/photo. Is there some setting or something that I need to change to be as happy as the ones being happy?

I love Phone 2′ camera. The output is very vibrant. But Portrait mode edge detection could be improved.

Some thing I liked about the Nothing camera (though it needs to be improved alot), is that it tried to be different at first with a contrasty style. Then started the complaints from all the users and the focus was on nailing the total Hdr and other adjustments leading to Nothing’s photo processing going in the same direction as the companies I’ve mentioned above.

See this camera comparison between Vivo X100 ultra and Xiaomi 14 ultra. See how these phones aren’t taking the most “technically accurate” photos but are taking genuinely way more stylish photos which has character to them. Not an overprocessed artificial mess. I have that complaint with Nothing’s processing as well. The overly processed hdr tuning and lack of character to its photos.

Nothing’s earlier days of how it handled processing, showed a hint of the potential it had. But now it’s kinda nerfed,with all the processing. That’s in my opinion.

Personally there are situations where Nothing stock camera still shines but for the photographic flexibility I’ve used AGC ( Gcam) with various photographic profiles.

Nothing is in its initial days unlike Vivo or Xiaomi, but I urge them to find their own style. Because style makes the shot not the technical accuracy!

It is good to see that Team Nothing is responding to the community members concerns and feedbacks. I have a feedback on the Camera app, that the Expert mode on the Phone 2 needs improvement.

After adjusting ISO first and then the Shutter speed, then again try to adjust the ISO will not show any changes on the image or on the Camera app.

The image comes out while taking regular shots are very impressive but we can adjust the Exposure only. It is good to have the option to adjust White Balance also, which make us to take even better shots while taking photos normally.

We have two capable 50 megapixel cameras and very good processor on the Phone 2, so you can use it’s full potential of the camera capabilities and image processing.
