Nothing Phone (2) camera feedback
- (Edited)
Phone 3a gets a camera update, no one from nothing thinks about phone 2 users
Since 3.0 software updates, shooting video at 4k the performance huge degraded. Even 1080P is better, smooth taking less space. What happened to nothing ? Seriously
Camera was better till the previous update. With latest update, it’s acting funny, be it in post processing colours, HDR or in against the light photos.

Skin tones requires tuning .
Contrast is at a higher side in few scenarios specially while taking human subjects.
And better stability for video and option to disable EIS as it has latency issues and kind of blurry at times .
So we can have 2 options either to improve EIS or we can disable EIS , record video later stabilize using google photos.
This blurriness in video very evident in night ex : you take a video in night from inside your car the meter and the small lighting in switches and all can’t be seen , are shaky/ blurry

Presets and optimization are two different things bro….
Presets are the set parameters which u can use to click pictures….. similar to filters.
Camera, exposure and saturation optimization is the proper processing and optimization of image so that it can appear better after processing finished.
Latest update has lowered the sharpness of photos and colours are also a bit funny.

OK, your remarks got me thinking…
Are you also facing the same weird center reddish tint, like mine, thus It’s software issue and will be fixed
OR
My device has definitely defective cameras and has to be sent back..
o0SGR0o no such thing in my device. It certainly looks like a hardware problem to me.
I was afraid so
I searched the WHOLE thread and found similar issue rider9324
maybe there is a faulty camera module(s) batch amongst Nothing Phone (2) and many users haven’t noticed…
I have tried also GCam and the issue persists thus my take is also this is hardware related 100%
To whom may want to test and check their camera.
The steps to reproduce is to try to take a pic of a subject in relative dim conditions and the item needs to be black as the problem to be clearly viewed/reproduced (If It exists).
Tip:
You know this has happened before (HTC One M7),
https://xdaforums.com/t/camera-problem-red-blue-purple-noise-in-low-light-photos.2317507/page-238
It was a major Issue back then, I also had this problem and got my device replaced.
That’s why I’m suspicious with the camera modules, I’ve been-there - done-that,
as far as I see the Industry didn’t get their lesson, and what happened before, happens yet again…
