Hey, I’m Alkid! I’ve been doing UI concepts for Nothing for 2 years nearly, and finally got my hands on on my first Nothing product, the Ear (open), through the Nothing Community Insider Program.
I think I just found my new favorite pair of open earbuds. The Nothing Ear (open) not only look incredible but they’re also pretty unique. They have that beautiful transparent look that Nothing is famous for, and the white color is absolutely stunning.
The case is a bit long but super slim, and it just slides right into your pocket. When I put the earbuds in, I can barely tell they’re there - so lightweight and comfortable, it’s like wearing nothing at all.
Now, the sound. For open earbuds, these things are amazing. They’ve got a nice balanced sound, which you can tweak in the Nothing X app, and surprisingly good bass for this type of design. You can stay aware of your surroundings while listening, which is perfect for outdoor use or when you need to hear what’s going on around you.
Plus, they’ve got this cool sound seal tech that minimizes sound leakage, so you’re not bothering people around you. Now, they don’t have noise cancelling, but for this type of earbud, that would be overkill anyway.
One thing to note is that they might struggle a bit in really noisy environments, but that’s kind of expected with open earbuds. But for what they are, they’re pretty fantastic.
What’s really impressive is the battery life. The buds last 8 hours, and the case up to 30 hours.
So yeah, the Nothing Ear (open) are a pretty great pair of open wireless earbuds. Awesome design, they sound amazing for their form factor, and I’m quite impressed.
