Introduce yourself
Hey Nothing peeps! Appreciate you all having me here I’m Sam and I’m from the UK working in the Nothing Content Team.
Before joining, I used to work for Fnatic as their Videographer & Editor and prior to that I was here there and everywhere making branded video content.
I’m so hyped by the Nothing journey and hearing about their future plans for the tech space. As a bit of a tech fan & nerd it just all sounded super cool and refreshing. I’ve been inspired by everyone I’ve met so far working here and I feel so lucky to be part of the team.
Okay so my most memorable piece of tech has to be the Oculus Quest 2. I’ve not experienced tech in a long time that’s made me feel like a kid again, but VR just adds a whole other level to the games that I already love. Something about using lightsabers to hit flying boxes in time to music just does it for me y’know?
Favourite movie quote is the 5 D’s of dodgeball “Dodge, duck, dip, dive and dodge” - Patches O’houlihan

SamC Welcome to the community! It’s always lovely to hear from the people that are bringing Nothing to life!
SamC I used to work for Fnatic as their Videographer & Editor
Very cool! I think the OnePlus partnership with Fnatic exposed many of us to the brand for the first time - what was the best project you worked on there?
SamC my most memorable piece of tech has to be the Oculus Quest 2
The Quest 2 is great! I picked one up for my dad last Christmas, and it’s become his go-to method for entertaining guests I love setting up a boundary before playing, and seeing the B&W camera feed of the outside world - it makes you feel like The Terminator!
SamC “Dodge, duck, dip, dive and dodge”
Thanks for the reminder that this masterpiece exists! I will have to re-watch this weekend
SamC Hey Sam, welcome to the Community side of Nothing. Always nice to hear from the great team behind the scenes. Hopefully, we’ll see you around a bit more, would be great to see some of your videography too.
SamC Okay so my most memorable piece of tech has to be the Oculus Quest 2
Believe it or not, I’ve still yet to experience VR on this level. The Oculus always grabbed my attention from the early inception days of the device. I could just imagine the state of my living room after playing an FPS on one of these
Hey guys, name is Shayantan and I am from Mumbai, India. I came up with the username “Starcommander” in 2014. Here is the story behind this name:
Back when I was in school, my geography teacher once told me that I was blessed with a star birthday. Don’t know what it means but it felt special . In my childhood, I was addicted to commando games like “return to the castle of Wolfestein”. These two events were the main inspiration behind my username. In 2014, I created a Google play profile with the username “Starcommander”. Little did I know, after 7 years, more than half of my friends would know me as Starcommander .
On personal front, I am an iOS developer and have extreme interest in DIY and photography.
I knew about nothing from the day it was announced. Like many other folks, I was an active member of another community and I am very excited to be a part of nothing community. I can see a lot of known faces here. Looking forward to the future
Writing this when I am half asleep. Forgive me for any mistakes
Starcommander Welcome! Pretty funny story for your username haha.
Btw I hope to see some nice shots / DIY projects from you, feel free to share them!

Howdy everyone! SO excited to be here. Let’s do this.
Whereabouts in the world are you? - I am currently in Chicago, IL. Well, technically a little suburb from Chicago but Chicago is “cooler” and more recognizable than Skokie lol
Let us know why you’re interested in Nothing! - Who doesn’t love being part of a community? I’ve been interested ever since I saw the ear (1). But I would love to see what this nothing ecosystem turns into. I want to be part of that, grow with it.
Name a piece of technology that dropped your jaw. - The HTC One (M7). I owned a few Android devices prior to this but this one blew me away. It was fast, reliable and ALL METAL
! But the speakers, my God did I love them. Loud but crisp. Loved showing it off.
What’s your favourite movie quote, or lyric from a song? - If you know me, I’m a huge Metallica fan. No Leaf Clover- "Then it comes to be that the soothing light at the end of your tunnel
Was just a freight train coming your way"Post a picture of your spirit gadget. It’s like a spirit animal, but with batteries. - Right now it’s my Pixel 6 Pro.
Eek! Not sure why it posted the same picture twice.

Louis I live in germany, which other reason do you need?
@jdinger03 and @JayAnyWay welcome!
Hey Guys! I am Muzammil from Lahore, Pakistan. I am 19 years old tech enthusiast.
I am a huge fan of Carl since his journey with the OnePlus. Now, if he has introduced Nothing then there must be some super plans ahead that attracted my attention towards Nothing.
My device Mi 10 Youth which I am currently using shocked me. It is a mid-range smartphone that helps me in everyday life.
My favorite lyric is from the song Believer by Imagine Dragons " Pain!
You made me a, you made me a believer, believer
Pain!
You break me down, you build me up, believer, believer"
Hope I will be of benefit to Nothing
Bonjour à tous ! Surprisingly, it seems like I am the first french man to introduce myself to the community, so I would like to send everyone greetings from all of us in France . Currently I’m based in Lyon where I just moved in from Lisbon in Portugal, and I study IT.
I originally followed the birth of Nothing as Carl Pei left OnePlus, and was thrilled to discover what he would accomplish without the restrictions and strings pulled by its previous company. I hoped nothing’s products could differentiate themselves from other companies which honestly all kind of do the same nowadays, and while the ears 1 were a beautiful and very fonctional product (bought them for my sister and my mother ), it didn’t quite change something about how we use or behave with our tech products. I hope in the future, Nothing achieves to build products that both are coherent and work together. I see the community as a tool for Nothing to both take ideas and have an early feedback on in-house ideas, so that we can create hand in hand great products.
The piece of technology I loved so much, and the first one I owned, must be my nintendo DS first gen, which was my entry into the tech world and a truly awesome piece of tech. Nowadays though, my airpods pro are the item I could not leave without, I was amazed by the whole experience they can provide (sorry, I know ear 1’s are competitors !)
Two quotes : a spiritual one
courage is the ability to go from one defeat to another without losing enthusiasm"- Churchill
, and a more practical one, quite funny if you ask me :
“buy nice or buy twice” which I heard first on MKBHD’s channel.
I don’t actually have one, but my spiritual gadget would be an electric scooter or bike, because I am speed (hope you get that one) and I love going out and rolling while always trying to be faster than the bigger players (the cars)
I hope we will do great things together, see you soon
Great to meet everyone and so happy to be here! Just some quick info about me below.
I reside in the pacific northwest, USA.
I’m interested in Nothing because of the simplicity, affordability, functionality and beauty of the Ear (1). I’m excited for the future of the company and products as it aligns closely with my own tech mantras.
the Game Boy Pocket made my jaw drop as a kid - I vividly remember getting this for Christmas along with Mega Man. It would ignite my never ending passion for gaming.
Favorite quote of recent memory is “I’m not comfortable with comfort. I’m only comfortable when I’m in a place where I’m constantly learning and growing” - Ye (fka Kanye West)
WELCOME WELCOME everyone! Great introductions!
