I purchased the Nothing Phone 1 and Phone 2, and after a year, the charging port on both phones started malfunctioning. I now have to push the cable in harder to get them to charge. When I visited the service center, I was told that replacing the charging port would cost around Rs 5000.

It’s not always possible to use Nothing’s own charging cables every time. In certain situations, we need to rely on others’ chargers, and the product should be robust enough to handle that. This issue needs to be addressed, and the product should be made more durable before being released.

I now have exactly the same problem with my NP2 cell phone. Every time I want to charge it it turns on and off. Unfortunately I don’t really know what to do about it other than trying to charge it with a different, slower cable.

I am not sure, what is the root cause, been using phone one from past 1.5 years. everything is good as new..
I used diff charger for .5 year as well.

I would document this feedback / raise a ticket with support via settings>system>feedback in your settings app.

I would say that I’ve had a Nothing Phone(1) since its release and the charging port is still going strong. For this to happen across to of your Nothing devices I’d suggest looking at the wires you’re using but, also if you’re getting sand/grit/dirt into the charging port. I got sand into my Huawei Mate 40 Pro charging point and it caused havok for me, rarely charged.

You can get it cleaned or clean it yourself with isopropyl alcohol. Happened with me 2 times, I just got it cleaned and works fine with crisp locking.

I’m running into this issue and I’ve only had the NP2 for two weeks. It seemed fine at first, but I noticed that it wasn’t charging yesterday at work. I tried blowing it out with compressed air, that didn’t do anything, so I’m going to try alcohol tonight after I get home from work. I’m in the USA, so I’m not even sure if I have any repair/warranty options.

Try cleaning the port with a thin stick like a tooth pick. Dirt accumulation is the likely culprit.

I’m having same issue with Nothing Phone 1. I did not use only NP1 cable but various ones. Last 30 days I’m experiencing seriously with this issue. Yesterday I couldn’t charge over cable and had to buy wireless charger and these two days I’m charging with my witless charger.

Charan_DSCR this 100% true got same issues on both of my phones 1 and 2. Must use same USB supplier as one plus had this issue on they’re product. Never had this on the apple products. On the plus great design phone 1 and 2 great software support. Not so sure of the design of 2a or 3a

Same Problem with my NP1. Hard to get contact to charge and I only used original nothing charger. In addition my phone is not connected or seen to my notebook so I cannot change files via this way.

I was waiting for phone 3 but looks like they are going to milk this series off 2a 2a plus 2a community edition. It will be same for 3 a 3a plus then 3a community edition and so on. Should have launched phone 3 with the original phone 1 and 2 camera design. Waiting for pixel 9 hopefully the leaked design is the one they go with. Looks great if not I’ll have to go back to iPhone
