Oily substance on neckband pro

Has anyone noticed their neckband is leaking a oily substance also the wires are getting greasy and feels will break

Hey mate. So there’s a few things here;

The oily substance is likely oil from where you headphones rest i.e. your neck. Or, it’s sweat. This is to be expected.
Zooming in on your images, these earphones look well used and, that might be why they’re appearing worn.

If you are still concerned at suggest contacting CMF support but, tbh, this looks like a well worn pair of headphones that are displaying wear and tear.

hrry thanks Mate fr ur response ,but evn initially I thought cd be sweat or body oil , so it was it it a wet cloth n kept it aside inside my drawer ,aftr 2 3 days I see tht it’s again oily ,

I did a few research on this myself I got to knw tht the oily substance is plactic plastisizer which is used to keep the wires inside durable without any wear and tear

I went to a nearest nothing service centre, but they said it’s a new thing cannot claim any warranty n said to email CMf nothing, which I did ,n waiting reply

I don’t think this issue is from usage. My neckband was in storage for a few days, and when I took it out, I noticed this greasy substance on it. I cleaned it with a damp cloth, but it came back after a few weeks. I even tried using isopropyl alcohol, but the problem returned again.

After doing some Googling, I came across the term “plasticizer leak”, and searching that (“plasticizer leak from the neckband material”) even brought me to this Nothing Community thread. So here I am!

If anyone knows a proper fix, please share it. This stuff is really gross!

Same here I am lso facing the same issue which I never had with oneplus bullets I even suggested neckband pro instead of bullets for my friends now they are blaming me for this
