I have been using the CMF buds for a month and a half now. So far, they have been regretful purchase. The only good thing they bring compared to the other companies like Realme, Xiaomi, OnePlus, etc is the Nothing X app for buds in this price range.
The company has focused more on ANC/ENC rather than the actual sound quality. The CMF Buds Pro webpage advertise them to have Ultra bass technology but no matter how much volume you increase or change the equaliser settings the bass somehow lacks the depth when compared to OnePlus Buds Z, OnePlus Nord Buds 1 & 2. The mids and treble are fine.
The sound quality when using the CMF Buds Pro with Windows actually degrades even more as for some reason the Windows only plays the sound at 16bits 48000Hz (DVD quality) rather than 24bits 48000Hz. I could not find any solution to this and even forcefully changing the sound driver from Microsoft to Realtek gives no sound output.
I read somewhere on the support section of the CMF Buds Pro that it can store 8 Bluetooth devices even then there is no option to switch between the recent two devices.
I mostly use the Buds in the gym and have noticed that the ANC/ENC does a good job cancelling the music playing around me and can easily cancel the noise from machines nearby. But when in call the ANC/ENC does not work as it should. I had my friends say they could hear the music and noise from the treadmill nearby more than my voice, but I was not hearing the music nor the treadmill’s noise that much. So, I think the CMF Buds are not exactly using the inner mic and rather using the two outer mics and trying to cancel noise from it which is not at all working. (Just a guess)
Lastly, if nothing could make a section in the Nothing X app to report bugs and suggestions from the app itself instead of using the community to do so, it would be really great.
Currently, CMF Buds Pro are not the best in this price segment. I would not recommend them and suggest looking for other options from brands like Xiaomi, Realme, OnePlus, etc. If quality matters to you more than the price than you should check out products from JBL, Sony, Jabra, etc, although they are expensive, but they do have better sound quality than this Buds.
Note* If you are planning to buy CMF Buds outside of India than just don’t, they are a Rs 1000 more the in India and spending 49 euros/pounds on them is not worth it.
