Anonymous340 tbh even if the actual passionate community members get one they’ll still end up reselling it when a collector offers them an absurd amount of money :/
Introducing Phone (2a) Plus Community Edition
- (Edited)
tanxtr3m3 not sure if they just want to create more hype or what the deal is. Just dissapointed to see it’s limited to only 1000 units, so that means that fans miss out or even worse people (not fans) buy them to resell for a profit. It doesn’t feel very “community edition” at all, maybe “limited edition” is better name for it.
zygerboy excited for snake! Reminds me of the old Nokia days!
If its available to everyone, its not exclusive. But I do agree 1000 units is a bit less for a community thats worldwide.
Does the registration work for any of you? (Trying from de.nothing.tech. Seems broken atm.)
Natalie Wait so I live in South Africa (you do sell here through Vodacom vendor) and I participated in the community challenge and also would love to be able to register, what do I do?? Says nothing about Africa per usual to anything
Just woke up at 4am to find out I can’t purchase the community edition in the US. That’s fun lol
Natalie Are you guys planning for community meet up?
freshj1ve this exactly! Felt every bit of this as well watching this launch today. Just feels like another hype ad to sell another 1000 units to their select top markets versus an actual community focused product where the whole community has an opportunity to be collectively apart of… pretty unfortunate they weren’t transparent about this during the process and saved these details for the drop. Personally I was hype to see something like this and then all that hype washed away pretty instantly lol hopefully long term they become more invested in their whole community not just a select few. Otherwise it’s not truly a community… Also makes many wonder what will become of phone 3 also
Sebastian for me from Italy same thing.. registration is stuck
The US has missed out on previous product drops from Nothing and it’s a bummer to see the Community Edition follow the pattern. I understand that the US probably isn’t the prime market, but man it makes me feel like the US isn’t considered a part of the Nothing community.
Ali Fakhruddin - Probably a massive cost implication too. I cannot imagine this edition of the Phone (2a) Plus will be operating for much, if any of a profit.
I agree, it is a shame to have such a limited quantity run, and I hope those who purchase intend on using and loving the Phone, not keeping it boxed or re-selling.

this whole “community” event feels like a dissapointment now
lets cancel the company for a few reasons i shall now list
1. Only 1000 units, as @freshj1ve mentioned, “limited edition” is better name for it
2. As @lu_viathan said, many people from the US woke up at 4am to find out that they can’t get it imagine the dissapointment on their face
3. idk i just wanted one so i waited a month only to find out i cant because its limited
5. oh and as @Anonymous340 said, they should’ve been transparent about this earlier!!!
(no i do not suck at counting i skipped 4 deal with it)
who’s with me?
Ealesy101 Agreed. I completely understand the logistics part. Its easy to design or create something digital compared to an actual physical product. But glad that its out and those 1000 lucky owners will be really happy to have it nonetheless.
tanxtr3m3 yeah, I’m kind of in the same boat (waited for this Community Edition annoucement).
Just wait and see what happens, hopefully with a bit of luck Nothing might listen to our feedback that 1,000 devices isn’t enough for a “Community Edition” and people are missing out. Who knows, but fingers crossed you can secure one still.
tanxtr3m3 If you want to make everyone happy, go sell an icecream - Steve Jobs. What I am trying to say is, Nothing still has a long way to go. And there are things behind the scenes that not everyone can be aware of. This edition isnt available in UAE as well. But Happy that its out there for the 1000 users.
Got the e-mail. Trying to register but always get an invalid email feedback Bad that this “limited” approach is is so often these days.
Ali Fakhruddin they shouldve been transparent about it earlier though
we wouldn’t have been this much dissapointed if they told us “so hey guys just a heads up the phone will be available to only 1k select people” like 3 months ago
Anonymous340 100%, but I don’t believe there will be limited units for the Phone 3 as Nothing is still growing, wants more people to get familar with the brand/products and their next flagship.
