Last version of fw and app here, on Pixel 6. About once in day the app is closed by Android and the connection is lost. I’ve set everything in the right way, and Pixel phones do not have a way to “fix” an app in the recent apps list. I hope this issue will be fixed asap, it’s the only problem I can see with this, otherwise, amazing product.

When playing music through Spotify, changing the volume using the volume controls on the watch don’t lead to a change in volume of the phone.

But the same works when the app is running in the foreground. As soon as i exit the app (please note that the app is running in the background and haven’t been cleared from the RAM), it stops working again. Has anyone encountered this problem?

2024 end of january and still no fix for this…

nothing phone 1, on latest fw,
watch on latest firmware,
App updated..
yet it wont stay connected after a couple of minutes when the app is not in foreground!
all battery optimisations or restrictions for the cmf app are disabled…
FIX THIS… a smartwatch that cant stay smart unless you literally use the device it was meant to support, is not a smartwatch.. just a paperweight

I’ve had it for 5 days. I can return it (not later than 25.february) i will wait for them to fix this issue if it will not be fixed before 25.feb i will return this shit.

Same issue here, the watch won’t stay connected if I’m not using the app activelly.

I’ve been waiting for one solution but my return period is ending so I’m sending it back.

same issue, noth phone 2, watch pro cmf, updated everything, i cant block app in the backround like on other androids and by mistake i clear all and it closes app, after that it is history…

new both devices…i m kinda sad now

Just going to throw my two cents into the ring, same issue here. I have the Nothing Phone 2 and just got the Watch Pro. Seems to work fine as long as I don’t shut the app down in the background, else constantly have to have it open as per the screenshot.

And yes, the background running permission is enabled.

After Checking this forum, I’m going to have to send this back as it seems a long standing issue. Real shame as I like the design and obviously was on board to invest in the Nothing / CMF brand after loving the NP2. Seems like the watch has been a public beta test?

Got mine Cmf watch pro. The application problem is still relevant. When on other phones you can use a crutch and forcefully pin the application in the background, then on Nothing phone You can’t even do that. I would like to have a seamless ecosystem nothing. But here even the application with its own phone cannot work properly. Could you implement all the functionality in the very nothing os, so that everything works smoothly and seamlessly.

Hi all,

I got myself a Nothing phone (2) and watch pro over the weekend. I noticed if I closed the CMF app, no notifications came through to the watch. Only calls I think showed up. But if I opened the app and left it open in the background, it stays connected.

No really an issue for me to do that and I’ve not notice it depleat my battery. It’s not ideal, but it’s shocking to see this hasn’t been resolved since when this thread started in October! 😬

Yeah. I am using Pixel 6a with CMF Watch Pro and I got the same issue as I can’t lock the app in the recents. I purchased the watch a month ago and I was aware of that issue, still it didn’t deter me from buying it as I am sure it will be fixed with time. Right now I just learned to keep the app in my recents at all times 🙂

Pixel 7 Pro here, got my watch pro a few days ago and updated. Still the problem from 5 months ago is present. It is concerning to me that in 5 months there have been multiple big fixes but this issue has clearly not been the top priority which makes you think what bugs were EVEN WORSE that took priority?

Hopefully nothing can get their act together and bring out a bug fix soon or I’m returning this.

I find it shameful that “CMF” Nothing have not come forward to acknowledge that there is a problem with this watch and there will be a fix soon. I should have saved my money by sending the watch back to Amazon in the time warranty, but alas I held out hope a fix was forth coming, how wrong was I? #Connections #Notifications The sound of Silence is deafening 😡

I regret for purchasing CMF watch pro.

I was using my honor magic watch almost 3 years without any problem.stikl it works fine.

After started using nothing phone 2, thought of using nothing products to get more features..but cmf watch pro is really a nightmare.

Thinking of selling it back ..

Either CMF should address this issue at the earliest.else it will loose the customer trust soon as it’s been like this from the day1 even after installing all updates, firmware..no luck at all..

Facing the same problem on my Pixel 6a still. The background running permission is toggled on and there is no way to lock the app in the recents, so the watch disconnects whenever the app is closed (sometimes automatically).

Is anyone even working to resolve the issue? I guess this would be the last product I buy from Nothing till you guys stop taking users for granted.

Same story with, exactly the same combo as you. I would suggest a bit of patience though, I am sure Nothing is working on a solution for that. It’s their first watch on the market. In my humble opinion is would be the best one as well if not for that issue.

I tried to see if I can trick the app to go back on automatically when I swipe it from recents by accident and I used Tasker, Automateit and MacroDroid for that but none of them succeeded.

Only thing that’s left is patiently waiting for Nothing to come up with the solution and remembering to keep the CMF app in recents at all times.
