I see many noting eSim. I would LOVE to see eSim added to Phone (3) and any Nothing Phone going forward. Lack of eSim here in the US is rather frustrating as more carriers are now prioritizing eSim activations thanks to Apple ditching physical SIM altogether unfortunately.
Nothing Phone (3) Expectations
Spec wise I think it’s pretty clear what specs we would anticipate in 2024. However, I am curious what Nothing can do to further differentiate themselves from the rest of the market. Most phones provide users with very similar day to day experiences, but what can Nothing do/bring the table to push the needle a bit and really impact our everyday lives in a positive way with Phone (3) and beyond that we have not yet seen on other smartphones or devices to date?
ArmouredShrimp Totally agree with you. I just became a member of the Community today with the purchase of the Ear 2s for my iPhone 12 mini, and wondered about changing to the Nothing Phone (2), but damn, this thing is too big for everyday use! a 6′/6,1′ inch phone will be a beast (considering Apple is not selling in this segment now - event though people are expecting an SE variant with the minis’ bodies)…
Triple camera setup, Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, 6000 mAH, Apple’s Midnight color, 4-5 years worth of software updates.
- Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 or 3
- Biggest battery as much as possible
- Qualcomm 3D sonic max ultrasonic fingerprint sensor

Ruslan The meaning of phone photography is not just for TikTok, at least a BIG no for me.
I understand that a camera would bring next-level photography experiences without any doubts.
But, as u said, a phone is born designed small and neat, which means most of us would just like to bring only a phone while away from home or commuting daily routine. (I don’t even need my wallet nowadays.)
I provide a scenario and an actual experience of myself for u to understand, aft I finished my job and having my way back to home at midnight, I bought some supper at convenience store. Right before i get in my car, I saw a cute snail and it is pretty uncommon where i live in a big city, the only tool I can utilize to capture and share this joy to my girlfriend was the phone, and you can’t expect that u have a camera besides you.
Focus on the desired phone that is “small and neat without any bulges in the camera area”
I still think that software photography is vital to create a perfect balance in terms of imaging quality between non-bumpy device, and that is the thing I think Nothing Phone is missing and should be keen on and put a high effort on it to increase phone market shares.
To capture every random moment beautifully and instantly I think is the real meaning that a phone could bring.
Sorry for poor english btw, hope you would get what i trying to express
*not captured by nothing
santanu_duttag Agree with u, i think most of nothing fans expecting the software experiences as more as apple could give while the UI and Design looks at least as Apple did.
Was hoping nothing to make the design on the nothing phone 3 like the design of the iphone 15 where the side ends are curved it would make it asthetically pleasing.About cameras the sharpness and the details is fine for phone 2 i thing it would be way better if there was like iphone quality color grading just love the colors coming out of the iphone 15 photos it would be great if the color grading of the nothing phone 3 camera compare like to iphone color grading in photos and videos. One more thing about the camera switching from one lens to other lens should be smooth like how iphones do it would make the nothing phone 3the best Android phone if these features were implemented. And was thinking about nothing making their own OS for their phones because androids have a lot of bloatware which slows or jitter the phones performance it would be best to start development of the nothing OS.
BalajiSrinivasa I think the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is very important because of the better neural engine.
OvidiuCîmpurean USB 3.1
Venkrish Please give us 3 camera system (no macro dedicated lens like others doing just to have 3 camera system) as mentioned by other UWA, Standard Tele and Zoom lens please :-)
OvidiuCîmpurean exactly, telephoto lens is a must.
Telephoto lens , increases battery life, own Photos app ( Google photos isn’t great without gOne subscription) . All the rest is good so far
Signed up just to give +1 to compact phone
I would be happy if there were more glyphs at the back and a second display for photos in the middle. Better sound
NP3 should have
- Two versions. 6.7 and 6.2screen sized.
- Lesser bezels.
- 4D vibration motor
- SD 8 Gen ⅔
- Triple camera setup in diagonal arrangement with 25x optical zoom
- Dolby Atmos and vision.
- 50w wireless charging
- No suggestion on software side cos they will not disappoint.

My suggestions for the Nothing Phone (3) should be:
- A 6.6 inch, 120hz, 1 Bn, LTPO OLED, slim symmetrical bezeled phone with nothing design language.
- A fairly powerful and cost effective SD or Dimenity Chip(SD 8gen 2, SD 7gen 3, Dimensity 9000, 8000 series).
- Faster UFS 3.1 or UFS4.0 Storage, with USB C 3.1
- An IP67 water resistance.
- A set of 3 cameras(Telephoto, Normal and Ultrawide).
- A 5000 mAH Battery.
- A balanced Dual Speaker system with a bit more bass and/or treble.
- A fully fledged software to enable best user experience with up to 4yrs OS support and 5yrs Security.
- More naturally positioned Fingerprint sensor, towards mid bottom half of phone
- Price range of £350-£500
Hello everyone,
I honestly don’t even know how to start this post. Recently rumors started circulating about the release/presentation of Nothing 2a. Leaving aside the technical hardware aspect which in my opinion is a massive downgrade, I sit and wonder if this open topic/forum on this page makes sense. What proposals and hardware/software requirements are requested by potential buyers and what is to be delivered…? If after all the text written here, (maybe very few posts in the Nothing team’s opinion) the only practical measure is to send a 6.7 inch ‘brick’ to the market with a processor almost identical to the NP1 and 128Gb storage option, honestly the company deserves her fate. Maybe only a penalty in production costs and low sales from the market will wake it up. The history of Samsung with the new S23FE which has an extremely inferior processor compared to the flagship versions but a higher price than those versions and Pixel with versions 6a (which I personally returned after 3 days), 7a which barely reached 90hz framerate display, etc., there are no lessons to be learned… what more can we ask for. Think that you NP team have not yet passed the reliability and support test of the products in comparison with established brands. If this rumor about the NP2a materializes, then you won’t be any different from Apple, Pixel and Samsung who are known to deliver hardware upgrades with a pharmacy dropper and price upgrades with a supermarket basket. However, in terms of software/firmware support, it delivers what it promises, Pixel - 7 years, Samsung - 5 years, etc. Regardless of what decisions will be made for the future of new products, I tend to think that the discussions on this page have no echo in the minds of the project teams N.P. However, I was and remain delighted with the majority of colleagues who wrote and posted on this page, you are the best. I wish success to this brand, to the new products, I will follow the posts on the page, but my expectations for the new NP3 and what it wanted to be, I think it ends here. Good luck and all the best to everyone.
